I ordered this adorable little axolotl for my daughter hoping he would provide a bit of comfort on those rough days so many young ladies are plagued with. Although he is a bit smaller than I was expecting, she swears he is just the right size to snug across your stomach on crampy days. And he is not too large to fit in even the smaller sized microwaves like you might find in a dorm. Once warmed up, the little guy is easily portable, no having to deal with troublesome cords if you need to move around. My daughter loves to use it when she is sitting at her computer. The moist heat is very soothing. Her only complaint is that the scent is a bit too strong for her to use up near her face on the occasions that she has ear aches. But she also mentioned that the smell has faded a bit with repeated use, so that may not be an issue for her in the future. I didn't find the scent all that strong myself, in fact I found it to be soothing. So that is really a matter of personal preference.The axolotl microwavable heat pack comes in a cute little box with a card and instructions. It would make a thoughtful gift to anyone that has cramping, muscle aches, or any other condition that would benefit from a bit of warmth. It is safer than a traditional heating pad for children or those with mobility issues because the pad is not continuously heating up. And no worries about forgetting to unplug or turn it off. The heat pack itself is easily removable so that the outer shell can be washed as needed. This little guy is just a great way to get some comforting warmth where you need it. And he can be reheated over and over again.

This is so cute and perfect for teens/tweens for moist heat therapy. It doesn't smell quite a sstrong of lavendar as I had hoped, but very cute and effective.

I set the cute Cuckool Microwave Heating Pad Mint Axolotl on my pillow for a fun bedroom accent when not using it as a heating pad. The exterior can be removed if it needs washing; I would recommend warm or cool settings and air drying. The flaxseed enclosed in an interior pouch produces a strong lavender and flaxseed scent at first when it’s heated in the microwave, but my experience in using these types of microwave heating pads for the past 4 years is that the scent does becomes much milder after heating and using it a few times. I heated it for 1 minute in our medium-power microwave, and it became hot, but not so hot I couldn’t hold it with my bare hand. After a few minutes, it became cozily warm and comforting, with the milder heat lasting about 2 hours. My favorite way to use this sweet mint axolotl is to heat it before bedtime and tuck it under the covers down where my feet will be to pre-warm the bed. And instead of turning the expensive heat on when days and evenings are a bit chilly, I just microwave it, place it on my lap in my recliner, and toss on a light throw to help hold the heat in while I relax and read a book or watch TV.

Larger size works well to cover bigger areas or can be doubled up/wrapped around appendages. The product listing says that it has a light lavender scent, but I couldn't really smell anything. The flaxseed material inside heats easily and evenly, but seems to hold the heat well instead of cooling quickly.I was concerned at first as I had ordered the mint color and the packaging was a bright pink box. Thought maybe there had been a mixup, but all was well once I opened it up and found the correct color choice to be inside. Not sure when axolotls became all the rage, but it is certainly cute.
