Used these bits to break up Las Vegas caliche, rocks, and palm tree roots (which were worse than rocks!) for some below-ground irrigation trenches in my back yard. For me they did what I asked them to do at a price that was sensible, and I have no buyer's remorse.Since this was a one-off project for me that didn't justify pouring money into high-grade tools, I bought these and went to town for four or five days boring through some tough Nevada desert dirt. As my pictures show, not only was I going through lousy desert caliche, but there was solid rock, an edge to the concrete slab that needed to be trimmed, and an INSANE and endless root system from 7 palm trees that had been removed from the yard... good grief I never thought any tree could be so resilient and invasive of the ground. The spade bit was essential for that... I would've been there for a thousand years without it. The bits needed to be sharpened on my grinder first to be effective, but I didn't have problems until I started fighting the palm tree roots - the sharper edge cut through the roots allowing them to be ripped out.All in all, money well-spent for me.

good priced points wear about like most name brand chisels. not bad about chipping when hitting steel rebar in concert like harder chisels do but they do deform at that spot. will buy them again.
