It’s a great water filter
I waited about a year to give my review because I wanted to see the value over time. I had a few bad experiences with different pitchers as the water at my office is extremely hard even replacing the filters earlier than recommended there was a fishy taste in the water. This has been a great investment and a life saver as water tastes fresh and clean. I don’t really understand the bad reviews. Yes it takes some time to filter but in return you don’t have to be changing the filters frequently and dealing with bad water. I usually fill it with a gallon of water and a half and it last me for a few days I just try to set a reminder to add water on time not to ran out of filtered water. Installation was easy and appearance is very nice.

Great alternative to Berkey branded filters
I really like my Berkey Water gravity filter system, but I have lost confidence in the Berkey branded filters. Not only are they very expensive, but independent testing showed that their advertised lab results were falsified. I don't know if this was intentional or accidental, but nonetheless the results made me question sticking with my Berkey system. I researched several Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems but was not impressed with the water taste, especially those that use a bladder in the reservoir, nor the amount of water wasted on back-flushing. Plus, with many on-demand RO systems requiring power (to avoid the using a bladder reservoir), I didn't like how I couldn't get a glass of water during a power outage. I decided to stick with my Berkey gravity filtration system but look for non-Berkey branded filters instead. The first eye-opening realization was how 3rd-party gravity filters are less than half the price of Berkey branded filters. One might think that the extra price for Berkey filters is because of their higher quality materials, but this is not the case. During independent testing, it was found that water that was filtered with the Berkey fluoride filters had a small amount of aluminum introduced. When they compared regular city tap water before and after the Berkey-branded fluoride filtering, the water before had zero aluminum, but after being filtered it had a detectable about of aluminum. And since aluminum consumption contributes to dementia and other health concerns, this is not at all an acceptable result. A filter should not make water worse than it was before being filtered.I've been trying replacement gravity filters for a while now and I was therefore intrigued by these filter pairs and how the fluoride filters do not use Activated Alumina, made from aluminium hydroxide, (as is the case with Berkey branded filters) and instead uses Carbonate Apatite, which is a group of phosphate minerals found in rocks and in crystal formations. So not only are these filters much less expensive than the Berkey branded filters, they are also made with better quality materials. A win-win situation!

Anxiety eliminated
With the none view window factory spigot that my Berkey came with I managed to over fill my Berkey countless times creating a mess of water everywhere to the point of worrying about causing floor rot. The frustration and anxiety related to this has now been eliminated thanks to this spigot with a view window so we can constantly see the level of the water in the lower reservoir we have a better idea of when and how much water to add to the top tank.

Easy set up for great tasting water
Easy to assemble and use. I set mine up on the counter right next to my sink. Water tastes great so I drink a lot more than I did before. This kit is quite a bit cheaper than the one my neighbor has but works exactly the same way & uses identical filters. I am very pleased with it. Highly recommended.

Will not seal.
I have this on a name brand Berkey filter after the original got broken. This unit will not seal. I have tried finger tight I have tried medium tight with pliers and I have tried using a socket to tighten it down as hard as humanly possible and none of those three versions keep it from leaking. Every time I fill it up I come back down about an hour and a half later and there's a gallon of water on my countertop.
