Not worth it
This was the most insane instruction (or lack there of) I e ever received! Not only was it missing pieces and it's not have the light that it stated it had, if you've never put together a tank before this is the nightmare. I finally figured it out but the construction of it is very maddening. One tiny move and the top of this is going to come off. It had no instruction on the filter part of it and it had I guess like three different levels cuz it clicked to the left and right three different times and at first it was so high my was having an incredible hard time I had to stick my hand in it and click it all the way down to where the water was running slower and she was okay but had I not paying attention to that my fish was likely be dead. To plants and stuff that came with were really cool and you get a lot of those for the money but also the heater the placement of it where it has to be, it makes no sense. You can't have the suction cup on the heating part yet you can only fit one suction cup on the non-heated part. And the placement of the water filter you can't suck in it to the bottom. I got this because I wanted my beta to thrive he was not eating well and I was told it was because the water was likely too cold because I'm cleaning it once a week and figured hey he needs to filter and heater in this seems like the right fit but I would definitely spend a little bit more money in the hassle for clear instructions and something that's going to come with all the items it states it does.

Small Betta tank
Great little fish tank, bought for my office with a Betta. One complaint is that it seemed to lose water quickly. Good value for the money

More cons than pro's and not worth the high price point
I was very excited for this tank in hopes that the system set up would be beneficial in keeping the tank clean longer, which is why I didn't mind spending $50 on this thank, oh how wrong I was. I wish I could say you get what you pay for but at a price point of $50, this should be much better than the $30 tank I purchased at a local pet store!Cons:Despite checking the tank for leaks it is constantly loosing water, the water levels is always extremely low and I am having to add water daily, which is awful as the water has to be conditioned before the fish is added, this is causing more work. I don't know if it is due to no lid being on the front half of the tank( it doesn't come with lid) or if water is splashing out from the little water fall, however the area around the tank is not wet. There is suppose to be a light that comes with this tank, it did not come in mine and seems based off other reviews it is a common thing for the light to be missing.Instructions, is more like lack there of. It came with a paper that had screenshots they had taken from a video. The video was also lack luster and we actually ended up setting up the tank wrong the first time and gave up watching the video or looking at the paper. It comes with not even a 1/2 a cup of rocks for the bottom so you will want to purchase an actual bag of rocks from the pet store to be able to actually cover the bottom of the tank. The pump that came in ours looked nothing like the one in the video and we weren't sure if it was actually water proof and held our breath waiting to see if the water would kill it.Pro:I only have one, it seems to be keeping the tank cleaner than the other one we had, but with all the things against this tank, I will likely go back to our old tank and trash this.

Just so so
It doesn’t come with the light shown in the instructions. The instructions are absolutely awful! Luckily I have tank setup experience but this is meant for a first time tank. It should be easy for teens to set up. It’s not.

Decorative only
The media could not be loaded. Unless you plan to use this as a sanitary station or temporary place, it isn’t big enough and you need to clean it too frequently because of that. Which is a bit hard to do with the grooves and space, I couldn’t even fit all off the plants in there! Much less real ones.I was gifted the fish, so I didn’t know much about care! The filter isn’t efficient enough for care.

One of the best micro setups
I'm using this as a shrimp tank. It's amazing. I'm able to feed my 50+ shrimps 2x a day. Enough food for them to take 2hours to finish. My nitrates test at 0. That's how great this setup can be. I have plants growing in the tank and in the overhead filter. I don't use the cotton floss. I wouldn't say this is a beginner setup. If I wasn't so experienced, this tank wouldn't be go great. There's some custom tweaks I've done to get this tank where it is now. But for anyone experienced and want a micro tank, definitely give this a try!
