Fantastic drill bit
Fantastic drill bit. I bought this to drill a hole as part of the fitting of an internal door knob (also bought from Amazon). Having never used a drill bit like this before I was a bit nervous but it was a doddle to fit into the drill and to use. The pointed tip is sharp so once you've marked where you want to drill you can't go wrong. Very strong and effective. Did a great job and cut through the wood with ease.

Did the job required of it well, and at a decent price.
Last weekend I needed to place a new spy-hole into my composite front door to allow the placement of a Ring Door View camera. Despite having a comprehensive box full of various drill bits I naturally couldn’t find the correct size of spade/flat bit that I needed. Amazon came to the rescue with a well priced offering from Bosch, and it sailed through the job in hand.If you’ve come to this product page for the same reason I have then I’ll share my method of spy-hole installation which worked well. For the Ring Door View camera you can install the camera into a hole of 12-14mm in diameter, but the larger holes will require you to fit the additional attachment that comes in the box. I used a 12mm flat bit and it all fitted perfectly. Assuming you’ve measured out the placement of the hole correctly (leaving room inside and out for the box of the camera/battery), I’d recommend using masking tape over the drill point to prevent scratches from any slips, and doing a pilot hole first. I used a 3.5mm wood bit starting from the front of the door. Apply minor pressure as you begin to drill, as once the fascia of the door is breached it’s only foam and you’ll fly through that. You’ll then get resistance from the inside face of the door, which you’ll need to proceed very cautiously to prevent the door splintering/bursting in an unsightly manner. There will come a point where you’ll be able to see the drill bit poking through, so pull the bit out and come at it again from the inside face to complete the hole. Once you’re satisfied with the alignment of the hole, you can use the 12mm flat bit to slowly bore through the door. Take your time, and once finished give it a quick file down and then you can safely fit the Ring Door View camera. The whole process, even being very cautious, will take under 10 minutes.
