So firstly this is not like any other standard camera. this an ip camera which means you can use this to record on your NVR. you will have to install vikylin application to configure and set up the camera from their website.The installation process is very simple and straightforward where you fix the camera and connect it with your ethernet cable. the ethernet cable can provide power so you don't need any additional power supply. however this is very it gets tricky, if you don't have ethernet cable or don't want to connect the camera over the network and just want to record on SB card then you will need a power cable with a pin which connects to camera and it doesn't come with that and hence I think it could have been better. Since the camera comes with the option to plug external power supply they should have included the power pin charger for convenience unless it has a usb for and you can use any standard usb cable for power supply.Picture quality is fine and i won't say it was the best as I have since some really good quality cameras with half of this price especially night vision.

This is very disappointing as I expected to be able to use it out of the box.But there is no power cable and UK or usb plug/ connector. And the instructions are without ANY references to this and the only thing I could glean from them was something about using a special power over internet.Well, I looked that up and it is not something I am wanting to invest in. And as to the claim this saves wires, well here is the news. IF IT HAD A POWER CABLE AND WAS WIFI IT WOULD HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF CABLES - ONEThis will be filed in the bin ..

The camera quality is very good, the image is very clear, and the mobile app is very convenient to use. Good

I'll cut to the chase, this camera requires a fair level of computer/networking knowledge to configure. Don't buy this if you are expecting a plug and play experience.Having got that out of the way this is a great quality camera, with a metal casing and built like a tank. Although labelled as POE it can also be powered separately via 12V barrel connector although obviously having the power running through an ethernet cable is preferable from an installation standpoint.There's software linked to in the instructions but I just didn't feel comfortable installing it. One download contained a password protected zipped folder within it so I couldn't run a full virus scan so I deleted it. Other downloads had a lot of Chinese writing in the install prompts which put me off too so I cancelled those as well and deleted them.Thankfully no software is actually needed as it defaults to an IP of 192.168.1.110 so it's simple enough to get it to communicate with your PC if you match that range. My network already uses that range so I was able to pop that IP into a browser and get straight to the cameras login screen. Username: 'admin' and password : '123456'. Needless to say I changed these straight away. Once in you can mess with all the settings, add text overlays to the video feed, turn the image upside down, the works. Image quality was terrific and the sound picked up was nice and clear too.You can install a MicroSD card into the camera to record onto. It's tucked away behind a waterproof door that's secured by two screws. However I opted to add it to my Synology NAS using Surveillance station and it was picked up right away as on ONVIF device. All I needed to do then was authenticate it using the username and password I'd set earlier and it was added to the rest of my cameras and I was able to set it up to record video directly to my NAS.There's also an app you can install on your phone but it's 4 years old and has no reviews and again has some sections in Chinese so I avoided this too.Basically it's a great camera if you know what you are doing. I can't recommend using any of the software though so it loses a star for that.

I can easily adjust motion detection zones, set recording schedules, and review footage. Knowing that this camera is keeping a watchful eye on my property gives me real peace of mind. It's a reliable, high-performing security solution that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
