Fifteen or so years ago I got a Dyson and have, for the most part, loved it. I got another one, and the love was just not there. I didn’t like it at all. So I was on a quest for my next vacuum. I bought another brand and disliked it even more. So the search continued. I asked friends and family what they had and loved, and Shark came up a few times with positive feedback. I was originally looking at getting a cordless one but decided to go with a corded. Then the next thing I contacted was stick or upright. I have always had an upright, so I didn’t know how they compared. After much thinking, reading, looking and asking, I decided on this one.After two disappointing vacuum purchases, I was skeptical. One of the things I have loved about my Dyson, is the cord length. The cord on this one is long just like my Dyson. It’s a bit stiff but is relaxing some with use. It isn’t heavy and is easy to maneuver. We have a dog, therefore hair, that it picks up very well. I didn’t think I would need or pay attention to the “headlights”, but they have turned out to be useful. It’s not bulky like an upright making it much easier to move. It has sensors that detect if you are on carpet or hardwood and automatically adjusts, no stopping to turn a knob to adjust to floor height and kind differences. It’s incredibly easy to switch from vacuum to more of a handheld for things like furniture. The suction is just as good if not better than my Dyson.The only two “negatives” (and to me they really aren’t negative, I’m just not sure how else to word it) are the canister and attachments. The canister is smaller a what I’m used to and needs to be emptied more often. That being said, I knew this when I purchased it, so it’s not something that affects the rating for me. I do like and use the attachments that come with it. I’m used to having the round brush attachment (that is not included with this one) and miss having it, but again, I knew when purchasing it wasn’t included. It is available on their website along with others. I plan to buy it and another attachment. So for me, the “negatives” really aren’t negative, they are preferences.I really really like this vacuum and would definitely buy another if needed.

I have been very pleased with this stick vacuum! It is lightweight and very versatile between cleaning hardwood and carpet. It also does great with stairs and getting into crevices and below furniture. The attachments are minimal, but well selected. A crevice tool, small roller brush head for furniture, and the wider rigid tool are all I need, in addition to the primary head. The cord is a bit stiffer than I would prefer, but it does not impede my ability to vacuum the floors in my home. I was keen to get a corded vacuum to avoid potentially losing power with a dying battery or being down due to charging. So I would gladly trade consistent vacuum suction for a stiffer cord. Something I really appreciate is how easy it is to disassembly portions of the vacuum to clean and/or maintain. The filters are easy to remove and clean, which helps maintain the aforementioned suction consistency. I had one instance where the suction was falling short, and I found a little door on the bottom of the vacuum head and upon opening found a blockage. That was easy to remove and I was back to full power. All in all, I think this is a great stick vacuum and well worth the price.

I had an old shark rocket that wasn't picking up anything anymore and needed to be replaced. I ended up going with this vacuum because I wanted something that worked well with pet hair and small debris. Overall I like this vacuum. I wanted with lightweight because my old rocket was so heavy it would blister my thumb. This one is definitely lighter. It picks up well with great suction. Its easy to empty and the anti hair tangle feature works great. A few things I don't like. I don't know why they designed the handle to have the cord sticking upright instead of down. That's actually really annoying. The collection container is really small. I have a smaller house and have to stop to empty it. If you have a larger area your vacuuming, this will need to get emptied many times. It's also harder to push than my old rocket especially on carpet. It doesn't glide as easily and needs some umph behind it.If you get this and care completely confused on how to hang the hand part on the stand, I took a picture. It took me a bit to figure out how to hang it.

It isn't often that both my wife and I get excited about the power and effectiveness of a vacuum but with the Shark Power Detect Ultra Light Corded Stick Vacuum we did. It has everything you could want in a vacuum especially if you don't have acres of flooring to clean. It picks up so much dust, dander and dirt from your floors including carpet, wood, and vinyl, has a more than enough power, super long heavy duty cord, the head is easily maneuvered and it is easy to empty the dust cup and clean and change the filters. It has two rollers and the unit adjusts the rpms of them automatically when the vacuuming surface changes. Just perfect.

This vacuum may be very lightweight, but it has incredible power. I have a large cat and it does an amazing job cleaning up his fur and the litter he tracks all over the carpets. My only complaint: the canister is small. That just means I have to empty it more frequently. Small trade off for so much power! It feels self-propelled. It’s low profile allows me to vacuum under the beds and the sofa and between the legs of my dining room chairs. Definitely recommend this vac!
