I Am a Cat

Simon is a pet cat who insists, to the disbelief of Lion, Tiger, Puma & friends, that he is a cat. After the big cats share their unique cat-like features, including mane and markings and speed - Simon helps them realize that with swishy tails, shart teeth & claws, and eyes that glow in the dark that he IS a cat. This was a HUGE hit with my elementary students. Clever and thoughtful, this is a great text to teach claim-evidence-reasoning in the library or literacy block in a classroom. I am a big fan of I AM A CAT!

Cute story! Lesson well taught. A little long (too repetitious) for my 3 yr old, though. Had to embellish story myself quite a bit to hold interest.

This book is a cute story about a cat. It also talks about similarities and differences (good for comparing and contrasting). The pictures are fun and add to the story. I read this book to my 1st graders, and they really enjoyed it.

We gave this as a birthday gift to our 4 year old grandson. He and his parents loved the book and thought it was hilarious.

Wonderful simple yet lovey book with amazing illustrations and a sweet sense of humor.Very relatable to children in general and especially to cat lovers. Wonderfull sweet experience.

Love this book. Teaches some great lessons about how you can have differences but in the end, still be the same & a friend & part of the 'cat' family. :)Teaches kids that everyone deserves to be treated equally, regardless of their differences.My 2-year-old son just loves this book!
