I am very new to bread making and just starting out. I got this little set to make my own sourdough. It is a little basket but still good. The tools it comes with are perfect, and it seems like a good deal with value for all of it together. Perfect little starter kit for beginner bread bakers.

I was looking for proofing baskets to make my own bread. I had some from a different brand before but I had to exchange them. So I took a shot with these. I liked the idea of getting all the extra items with the proofing baskets but the quality of the baskets was not to my liking. It does make a difference when you spend a couple of bucks more for a more enjoyable baking experience.

I ordered this bread proofing basket set because I wanted to be reminded of my mother's kitchen growing up when she would make bread for our family. Nothing store bought can ever compare to fresh homemade bread and this kit makes it easy to get started with the included tools. I love this set because I live in an apartment with limited drawer space, so it is perfect for my needs. The tools are all decent quality and a bargain as a bundled price.

The kit has a lot of cool stuff making it a well worth purchase. I’ve bought another before that had a chemical smell but this one has virtually no smell. Functionality wise it seems like it will get the job done and even came with a brush for cleaning to make it easier to maintain. The quality of the cloth however is a con in my book, it’s really thin, which can lead to a dryer rise in the proofing stage. I’d recommend putting your basket with dough in a bag in the fridge for the second rise if you’re someone who prefers the longer ferment because this will dry out with simply a cloth kitchen towel over it, making a skin on your dough while in the fridge.

I was really impressed by how good the quality of this kit was, compared to the price. It's truly an outstanding value, and I'm hoping more people discover it.The proofing basket is made from rattan, but not the rattan you're familiar with. That rattan is usually split into thin sections, then woven. This is the full rattan stalk, like a solid vine stalk. Very dense, and heavy. It's wound into the basket shape (oval, in this set), and it's extemely solid. It has a cloth cover already on it, to allow the dough to breath, rise, and release for baking.The tools are equally impressive, and are all wood, and heavy. I believe that's because the handles are hardwood, and it appears that the wood is Beech. Nicely finished, as well.I have posted pics of the tools, which are all good quality, as is the brush.I honestly believe that this set is a great value, and you'll enjoy using it. It's got a sort of timeless design that will look at home in any kitchen setting.
