He loved it!
This was a Christmas gift and a total hit! He loved it. Only problem was that it arrived after Christmas, not sure why it was so delayed.

Great product. Pain to unwrap.
Please stop screwing the plastic wrapping into the board. A total pain in the rear. Other than that we’re very pleased with the product.

Nice, basic starter board
This is a great basic starter skateboard for elementary aged kids. It's a good size for my 9 year old son and has a standard design with wider/longer footboard to make it easier for them to learn on. Tony Hawk is a recognizable name when it comes to skateboarding, which kids also think is cool. The design isn't for me, but I'm not the one using it. My husband immediately mentioned replacing the wheels so the board goes faster, but that doesn't seem necessary to me at this age. Maybe older kids/teenagers will want to modify it.

Great for Beginners and Kids, professional grade format, Great Value!
I want to start out by acknowledging that this skateboard is a great deal! From the standpoint of buying a complete skateboard for a kid or a young beginner, it's hard to beat. I've been skateboarding since the days of when CCS was the only source of mail order skateboards and parts. Even today, you can easily spend a couple hundred bucks or more picking and choosing parts to make a custom complete skateboard. So my standpoint for this review is from the perspective of buying a complete board for a beginner. The 31 inch length is good for kids because it's a little bit shorter than your typical board length for professionals, which will give kids a little bit more control. I found the concave on the board I received to be adequate, and probably from the middle of the batch because the curves are pretty mellow. The wheels are urethane, as expected, and ABEC 5 bearings are going to be just fine for any beginner. I was pleasantly surprised discover they have spacers between the bearings inside the wheels (but no speed washers included). The trucks are 7-3/8 inches wide (approximately) which is appropriate for the 7-3/4 inch board width. The trucks are a really light-weight alloy. There isn't any branding on the trucks, but the bushings within show the Hawk emblem. The base of the trucks is nice and thick (no risers needed), as is the pivot cup and the liner. The axles on the trucks are definitely where some haste in construction shows. The amount of axle that protrudes from the either side of the hanger varied by up to 3/32 or more, and one of the axles actually spins in the hanger when tightening the axle nut (but cannot be tapped side to side). Despite this, I was easily able to correctly tension the axle nuts to allow just the right amount of space for the bearings. Additionally, I don't think these variances will affect much for beginners. The hardware for mounting the trucks is just phillips, but that is what I would expect for this price-point. They will need to be tightened down a bit, because they protrude from the surface as assembled. All that considered, I still think this is a great option for a complete skateboard for kids & beginners, it's a pretty unbeatable value considering the format & fabrication are the same as what you might find in a modern day professional complete skateboard. As an affordable beginner skateboard, this earns 5 stars!

Awesome Tony Hawk Skateboard
The skateboard comes with amazing bright colored graphics, which is a nice reprieve from the basic solid colors skateboards. The skateboard runs really well and has great traction. The 31" surface allows for plenty of foot movements and repositioning.Highly recommend!

Inexpensive and great for a beginner
This is a nice skateboard. It is has a good design, and is a Tony Hawk series board. There is not much to expect from it because it is cheap, but it feels great! I am using this learn myself and also teach my kids. The wheels role smoothly, and the grip feels nice on the shoes.
