Why don't computers come with a card reader anymore?
Over the last few years all my computers have come with an SD or micro SD card reader. Why not the newer ones especially laptops! This has been a very useful tool, simply plug into a spare usb port and then slide in the card to one of the two slots, small at the end large at the side and it pops up as a drive to get your photos and videos from (in my case that is). Small and efficient

Simple and effective!
I seem to go through USB Card Reader every few months, even with only light usage. This card reader is a no-thrills, budget option that works as expected. The build quality of the device seems adequate, and I imagine that it will hold up for a few months of use at least. Due to the nature of these devices, they do begin to fail after a while, which is worth keeping in mind.Overall, I have no real complaints. It does what it says on the tin without any fuss, and it's "good enough".

Good multiformat card reader
This is a surprisingly good little multiformat car reader that reads and writes many popular formats. Not the faster reader, and certainly not great for writing, but for the price performance is good. This reader has a quality feel to it, and the various cards fit in the sockets securely. A good budget option.

Lower than expected write perforance on the SD card.
The '2-in-1 USB SD Card Reader, USB 3.0 for SD Micro SDXC Micro SDHC UHS-I Fast Reader/Writer arrived in a basic bag.To test this reader I used a 128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro MicroSD card and a 64GB Sandisk Extreme Pro SD card. With the reader connected to my USB 3.1 hub which has its own power supply, I used CrystalDiskMark 8 to test and record the results. The MicroSD card performed as expected on Read but slightly low on Write, The SD card performed the same as the MicroSD card on Read but almost 40MB/s down on the expected Q8T1 test.I am sorry to say I cannot recommend this card reader if writing is important, as just a reader it would be within expectations.

Just what I wanted
I just wanted to upload pictures from my digital camera to my computer without messing around with wireless apps and yards of cables with a lump of plastic on the end - then Insee this - it’s essentially a thumb drive shaped card reader for SD and micro SD cards. It just works because there’s nothing to go wrongs. Sure, if you need a USB-C connector you will need a cable based solution - this has a USB 1.0 style connector. The SD card slot is on the long side and micro slot on the end behind a hinged cover. As far as I can make out it is a passive device so speed is entirely dependent on the port you plug it into, but really uploading a few pics is only a short job anyway.I like it.

Rubbish
Takes many plugging in and out of a usb slot for it to work and if its moved slightly it stops working again.

Great
Works really well, plugged it in and worked immediately. Fits SD card and works way better than the built in card reader of my computer.
