Good value quality system requires additional items
Kit was delivered by three couriers although only one was listed on Amazon. Once over this hurdle (after missed deliveries and contact to Eco-Worthy for Tracking numbers). Everything arrived undamaged and then additional items (some anticipated but some became clear after reading installation instructions) were received/ ordered. Required a battery isolater and an MCB to isolate and protect the Solar Panels/ inverter.Panels were installed in my garden so additional wiring was required between the solar panels and the inverter. I didn’t have a Battery Charger to charge each battery prior to installing them in series (Top balancing to within 0.1 V of each other is necessary before installation) so had to purchase one. I have the batteries on a substantial shelf (four batteries weigh just shy of forty kilos) The shelf is slatted allowing air to flow around the batteries. I’ve been running the system for a couple of months now and realised that batteries did not appear to be taking as much charge as I’d expected; I had read that the batteries would require balancing every couple of months but there was no mention in the battery literature that eco-worthy make a 48V battery balancer that actively balances the four batteries during both charging and discharge which I have now installed and the system is now operating as I’d expected. The SmartESS App connected easily after scanning the barcode on the WiFi data logger. It occasionally shows as offline but this appears to be a connection issue at the cloud end and has always resolved itself within 10 minutes or so. The readings on battery percentage are not accurate; You are best off looking at battery voltage to understand state of charge. Since I installed in the middle of August I managed to get a few weeks of good sunny days but because I hadn’t installed the battery balancer back then my batteries appeared as fully charged to the inverter based on readings based on the outer two batteries connected to it whilst the centre two batteries were not fully charged. Even so I have so far produced and used 184.6 kWh of solar power either directly or from the batteries. (Panels run down my garden facing South at approx 36degrees with partial shading in the morning from trees and in the evening from my house - plan is to mount them on a pergola in the centre of the garden in three rows of five to avoid both sources of shading but this was not financially viable now and they needed to start paying for themselves). The fans on the inverter are not particularly noisy - think computer fans - but they hit high speeds if charging from the grid at the default 60A. My inverter is mounted on a block wall in my utility room but there is a high pitched resonance at 60A charge rate that is particularly noticeable if you’re in bed when the grid kicks in (based on battery voltage set for this to happen on the Sbu mode - a charge from the grid cannot be set to occur at a specific time; there is no system clock in this inverter.) I found that reducing the charge rate to 40A resolved the noise issue and also seems to enable the battery balancer to keep up its balancing activity during the grid charge. This is not an issue during solar charging as current levels are never this high. In summary; The system has been reliable so far and with the addition of the battery balancer functions well. The fact that it also operates as a UPS is a bonus. I’ve never loaded it much beyond 3kW - I’ve run my washing machine and tumble dryer but not at the same time. As far as cooking is concerned I primarily use my microwave, pressure cooker and air fryer but rarely more than two of these together. I currently use a gas combi boiler for heating and hot water. Taking advantage of off-peak electricity prices in the U.K. to charge batteries is not an option without investing in another MPPT charger fed solely from the grid via a timed switch; I have not looked into this currently but it is certainly an option. I’ve spent about £4K overall.

So far, so good
Currently in spring / summer Northern Ireland, it's running my whole house. I am a single person household, but do have quite a few gadgets on standby. When I turned on an American fridge / freezer was the only time I needed grid power (that promptly got turned off again). A limitation I have found is that it can't run the washing machine - can't get the power for full spin, therefore would run forever. I need to switch to UTI mode to run that. I wish there was more information available online for questions I have, such as what all the settings mean, and should I be able to run a washing machine?!

Terrible service, does not work tried 4 over 6 days to get hold of them for help *. Update replaced.
The solar unit constantly beeped we telephoned and they said we would get an email from their technician within 48hrs so we had to wait. The email came back saying to turn the unit on and off again and that was their advice! We had removed our old system so had no electric unless we put up with the beeping. It then stopped working altogether we re-contacted them informing that we had no electric they never responded. We had to get an electrician and pay them, so this has cost more, they tested the unit and one of the batteries was faulty. There is no support what so ever and they don’t know about the products they are selling.Update ****They replaced the unit on the 9th October so have updated for two stars. You have to be aware that they are selling these units with no technical support if anything goes wrong. This should be stated as you send an email with your problem then the person you email speaks to the technician, so there is no direct contact, which obviously eats up days and when you have no electricity this can be very annoying. But they have now sent a new unit, so have updated review accordingly.

It works
Arrived in 3 deliveries but that was fine as they told me it would (all there within a few days).Easy enough to install but Inverter settings were a bit tricky.Needed help from supplier a couple of times but is fine now. They did get back quickly to my questions so praise to them for that.Only issue currently is low charge current to Batteries from panels, but it is winter (Jan 2023) so not much sun about, summer will be the tell when hopefully the sun comes out a bit more.

Great seller
There was a bit of problem on one of the battery. Although it took a while to confirm the problem and get it sorted. The seller was able to resend the new replacement battery. Great seller, excellent customer service!
