Perfect compatible replacement for my laptop. The cable is a good quality, cord length is perfect if you are not near an outlet. Charges quickly and the cable adapter does not get too hot.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3583 that I bought in 2019. It was a $249 special, so it is what it is. I had the hard drive replaced 6 months ago with a more powerful, faster hard drive and it's been working great. Then about a month ago the battery stopped charging, and I was getting the error message "AC adaptor/charger not recognized." ??? I had to plug in the laptop to use it. I did some online research and this seemed to be a common issue for Dells, but I couldn't find anyone offering a winning resolution. So I purchased a universal battery for $25 and replaced it. Still didn't charge. Then I purchased this DELL AC adaptor/charger for $20. Still not charging. Then I purchased a DC power jack charging port cable for $7 and replaced it. BAM! LIKE NEW! Not sure if I needed all three, but after pricing new laptops it was well worth the $50 and all 3 items were very easy to replace. As for this DELL charger, there is a nice tight "click" fit with the charger male into the DC adaptor female. The battery charges quickly with this charger. Hope this helps.

My original charging cord that I had forever the wires started to expose and even then I taped it and kept using it. When the tape no longer worked I purchased this replacement charger and it works beautifully thus far.

I bought this charger June 2020 and until this December 2024 I needed a replacement. Great quality as well!!
