I have been using for months and it is amazing. It will easly hold a cup of whatever you need. I been using it for grinding fresh herbs or whatever. Havent had any issues with it dries quickly when washed.

Good stuff

For $30 I'm happy with mine. It's a nice size, the wood base it comes with is sturdy and nice. The mortar fits into it well. As far as using a piece of granite to smash and grind stuff into another piece of granite goes, it gets the job done and the overall fit and finish seems great.

This is quite a nice size molcajete for grinding herbs or making salsas. The wood pedestal is very attractive and the granite is nicely finished. It's very solid and the pestle is large and easy to hold. The pedestal has grippy feet which keep it well planted while in use.Only complaint: I am disappointed that it did not come with any instructions on how to season it. If I didn't know any better we'd be eating gritty guacamole for weeks. :)

Some people complained about the Marbel ones breaking, but remember marble is hard but brittle. You can only grind and not smash things with it. The granite one is not so brittle. So its better to get granite.This size is OK for 1 or 2 people for salsa but it really depends on what you are making.

replacement for a smaller morter and pestle that i had to use twice to fit everything. heavier pestle that makes it quick and easy. wooden bowl protects my granite countertop, it wont last forever but is replaceable. very happy with this purchase.

I didn’t know how much I needed this in my kitchen, it’s so nice to grind fresh herbs and spices.
