For Homemade Ice Cream and Soups
Once, long ago, I worked in a bakery. One thing I had access to were large plastic sour cream containers with lids. I've kept two of them for decades and finally, the top edges are beginning to separate. After buying a new ice cream maker, I needed something in which to store the results. I also make homemade soups in the fall/winter months and generally freeze them in portions.These containers are sturdy and the lids fit very snugly. I haven't noticed any transfer of tastes or smells and the plastic washes well in the dishwasher. The description says each is 32 oz, which is 4 cups. I tested the volume and each does hold this amount, but you'd need to lessen it when freezing to allow for expansion. The actual measurements are different than advertised - the overall height is 5.75" (including lid) and the width across the top is 4.0". Per the description - BPA free - we'll have to take their word for it...I was happy with the price point at the time of purchase. I'll update if anything out of the ordinary occurs, but I would definitely recommend this product...

They work well
They are light weight, but do a great job. Lid fits tight with no leakage. Didn't realize this at the time of purchase, but there are two elongated half moon indents on either side of the container. Both are not clear an shiny like the rest of the container, but are frosted opaque patches, with a very fine texture. Turns out that they are nonslip handholds, which work great. I accidentally dripped olive oil on the side and this feature keep the container from slipping out of my fingers. Love it!
