Waveshare SC3336 3MP Camera Module (B), with High Sensitivity, High SNR, and Low Light Performance, compatible with LuckFox Pico Series Boards

Bought two of these. Worked without any issues. Items came in an extremely padded 2" cube box making it impossible to damage in shipping. For those looking for technical information, the camera is made specifically for the LuckFox Pico series. The connector / cable is FFC0.5 20P (0.5 pitch, 20 pin) and the pins are: 1,3,6,9,12,15,17,18 - GND 19, 20 - VCC 3.3v 2 - MIPI MCLK0 4/5 - MIPI D0 P/N 7/8 - MIPI CLK P/N 10/11 - MIPI D1 P/N 13/14 - MIPI I2C SCL/SDA 15 - NC or IR CUT (based on the camera version) 16 - MIPI RST

It works and connected as per the tutorial without problem with a luckfox Pico max (with buildroot os on the on-board flash). However it is auto-adjusting for brightness (etc ?) and it is incapable of coping with sunny outdoors without fully washing out, which is not desperately useful. Also note youtube is awash with people who have tried to get object detection working and no one seems to have managed. The documentation says in several places "x is not yet supported" in comments from 1-3 years ago, so it seems that having created a board for video AI they couldn't be bothered finishing off the software support, which is a shame.

Good plug-and-play ddition to LuckFox boards or other microcontrollers that come with compatible camera connector. The camera is based on SmartSense 3Mpix, 30FPS sensor. It is a lower end sensor, but it should suffice for many DIY applications. The product is a very convenient and economical way to add imaging capability to your project. It comes well packaged with protective cover on the lens assembly. Flat FFC cable is included. The camera needs good light and it does not have IR cut filter.

This is a nice camera for your standard PICO type project. It works. Has a clear FOV. Clear picture. It's automatically supported. It's also fairly standard so there are 3d models out there you can print for an enclosure
