Reliabilty and Quality
Wow! I've been using this one for 5 years now, and it still works well and reliably. Additionally, it has extended the life of my car battery, so it has also paid for itself. You can't ask for more than that.

Great Charger/Maintainer for the Features and Price
Current Applications: Tractor/Mowers. After researching a very large number of Battery Chargers/Maintainers, I selected the Energizer ENC-2A and purchased two of them (several weeks apart) because of 1) Current Customer Reviews (4.2/5.0), 2) 5-year Warranty, implying that it will last a long time, compared to other Maintainers with much shorter warranties or unusable warranties (cost to fix under warranty greater than charger cost, for example), 3) 2A Current Rating, 4) Ring Terminal Accessory to enable quick connect/disconnect, 5) It is a 7-Step (Stage) Smart Charger, 6) It can charge 6V or 12V Batteries, 7) The price was very good for the features, 8) Cords are certainly long enough, 9) It will charge AGM batteries, if they are salvageable, Marine Deep Cycle, etc., 10) Ability to fully charge discharged batteries, with voltages below 1.0V, if bad cells can be recovered by the Smart Steps, 11) Lightweight, and 12) Amazon delivery was great, as usual. I did not like the fact that 1) Energizer does not actually make the product and that you have to contact the real manufacturer (licensed by Energizer), which apparently is Bright Manufacturing, with Corporate Offices in Florida, if you have a problem 2) After a power outage, you must re-select the correct voltage (6V or 12V) before the charger "Energizes" or turns on - would have preferred a 6V/12V switch, so that the charger could start working immediately after a power outage, 3) Would like to see an LED Display with more information, but what can you logically expect for a Charger/Maintainer at a price of $20 delivered?

ENC8A - not so good
My ENC8A never hits maintenance mode. Battery is 120AH deep cycle, 1 month old, never used, previously charged w/ a friend's 10 amp Schumacher, which worked fine. This thing got it to 14.5V quick, but it doesn't go into maintenance mode. I presumed it would (the Schumacher took about 4 hours with battery fresh from store, I expected this would take less than 2 since it had already been topped off) so I went to bed presuming it would do its job. BAD IDEA. By the time I remembered to check, this cooked the battery for almost 14 hours. It is supposed to get it to 14.6v, then go into maintenance mode, and kick back on at 12.8v. The problem is it couldn't get it to 14.6v, so it sat at 14.5v for way too long. The Schumacher basically had the same logic but brought it to 15.0v before entering maintenance mode. I'd have bought one of those but it is noisy (transformer buzzes), gets pretty warm, isn't energy efficient. Looks like I'll have to settle for that or spend 3x for a BatteryMinder or BatteryTender. I sure hope it didn't kill my new battery. I suppose maybe I just got a bad one, but I'm not risking my battery to another. This one is going back. UPDATE: I decided to give it one more try before sending it back. Since the battery had been sitting for a week, I expected it to need a little topping off (I measured it at 12.86v), but I intended to watch the charger to see if/when it went into maintenance mode. Well, I got distracted and forgot about it after dinner, went to bed, and woke up out of a sound sleep at 4am remembering to check it - ran to it, and it was still charging at 14.5v. Again, never hitting the required 14.6v. 12 hours of charging on a new battery and the charger still didn't think it was full. I hope I didn't ruin the battery. I'm boxing it up to return it today. UPDATE 2: I ended up buying a BatteryMINDer 128CEC1. Wow, what a difference. Of course you're paying a lot more for it at about $150, but it is flawless. It charges fast, it does not over-charge, and in maintenance mode it is constantly desulfating, or more accurately for my new battery, preventing sulfation. (But keep in mind that it's not for small batteries - they have other models for those.)

Great product
Excellent product presentation, packaging, and quality of the materials. Screen is good size. Cords have a reasonable length. Clamps are easy to connect. Installation is VERY easy. The charger automatically started it’s function at 12V, self-selected car, and started charging my car’s battery. I was driving to Austin and half way through, the battery warning indicator went off. I was able to drive the vehicle until the battery died at a gas station. Bought a new battery and replaced the previous one. Drove home with the full charge of the new battery. I ordered this product after reading several reviews carefully and got it today. I plan to drive the car to the shop and replace the battery generator (alternator). It also seems a great product to maintain a battery charge when not using your vehicles / boats frequently enough. I hope the product continues to work as well as for the past 5 Hr since it’s installation. Thus far recommend it! Good price and a nice toy to have in your garage. You never know! 😎

Siempre que la batería tenga mas de 9 voltios (en el caso de una de 12V.) podrás cargarla y mantenerla, pero si tiene menos que eso marcará error.
