A nifty little camera but not the most user-friendly for casual users
This camera is plug-and-play. However, you probably won't find it to be the best choice for video conferencing and the like. I have a purpose built webcam that has the ability to pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ). This camera does not. My webcam works seamlessly with all the features in any video conferencing app or website. This camera will provide a fixed video image. That's it. If that's all you want / need, then you'll be good to go. If you do a lot of video calls as I do, then you will want more features than this camera offers.Where this camera really shines is for uses such as a front door camera, or room / area monitoring - uses where the desired target stays in frame at all times. We have a lot of wildlife around our home and this will be perfect for getting video of the deer, antelope, birds, etc. I could also definitely see it mounted on our front door to provide a clear image of all deliveries or visitors there. However, as I noted above, there isn't any software included to accomplish this in a seamless way. I would need to add some python code and a local web server to present the images as needed on browser tab. Certainly doable, but well beyond the skillset of the casual user.Having said all that, the camera does react reasonably well to light and colors. The camera comes with a screw hole adapter for a tripod integrated into the metal case, and a USB A to type C cable. There's a card in the package with a QR code to link to a Quick Start Guide for Windows/Linux on the ArduCam website.This little camera provides a high quality image. Nothing fancy to be sure, but it does offer a nice camera in a very durable metal case that can be used in a variety of situations if you have the ability to leverage its versatility.
