This may work for people with fine/thin hair (or who live somewhere with low humidity), but this flat iron was no match for my thick, curly hair. Going back to my old stand-by. Sorry, Drew!

Okay, so I'm not someone who is fantastic beauty wise. You know the type - the people who always have fantastic hair and gorgeous makeup. I'm more of a ponytail light eye shadow type of person when I go out. I CAN'T use a curling iron on my hair - I can't! It always winds up looking so messed up. I've straightened it before so I was excited to get this to see if it's a good straightener.Not only is it amazing at straightening, I MANAGED TO CURL MY HAIR!Let me go back - this thing heats up in about 2 seconds. Seriously, it's hot and ready to go in less than 2 minutes - honestly I think it was closer to a minute, I didn't really time it. I just know that everyone has been in shock when I've shown them how quickly this heats up. Then I went online and looked how to curl with a straightener. I had tried curling with my older straightener and it didn't do a good job. This one is amazing! I managed to curl it so well my husband is now requesting I curl it regularly!I'm definitely very impressed with this straightener!

This is a fine flat iron. I don't know why is costs so much, other than having Drew Barrymore's name assigned to it. I do like the longer swivel cord and the color. The last one I had had a digital read out which I liked better than needing to memorize the dot readout on this model. My other one I did not like because it had a stupid feature that the power button was placed where I held onto the device and I inadvertently turned the thing off several times. The performance of this is okay, not fabulous. I would have to recommend shopping for one that doesn't cost so much because I think there other irons that work as well or better for much less money.

This iron heats up fast. In less than 10 seconds, it was too hot for me to put my finger on the plate. I like that the buttons are near the base where the cord is. It means the buttons are out of the way of your hand when you're handling the styling iron every which way. I like that the cord swivels as well. No frustrating tangles in the cord while you're working on your hair. The one pitfall to this product is the fact the plates don't always close flat completely closed. There's a small angled gap between the plates so it means small bunches of hair are hard to grip at the tip. Small bits of hair at the tip just slide away instead of being captured. It works fine if you're working with larger sections of hair that can fill up the gap space.

Straightens with a nice even finish. My wife's hair was left feeling smooth without feeling dry or having that pungent smell of burnt hair afterwards. Some straighteners can catch your hair or even pull some out, but my wife did not have any issues like that with Dear Drew straightener. Not as heavy as some straigteners my wife has owned in the past. She says it feels good in her hands and she doesn't get an awkward handcrap for it being held for long periods. There are some sections of hair my wife needs to go over serveral times even on the highest setting. Eventhough the comb clamp helps sperate hair for even heat distribution, my wife leaves the comb clip off because it doesn't really work with her think hair. The swivel cord is a nice touch so you don't get caught up in the cord and have to constantly moove around for a better angle. Her frizzy hair was calmed after use and stayed straight for many days after

I wasn't expecting much from this flat iron. After all, I've owned other flat irons. But, this is not like any other flat iron I've ever own. It goes above and beyond, starting with the power button. It was ready almost instantly--literally seconds. Then, the comb. I've never had a hair straightener with a comb but it makes a huge difference in grabbing my hair and keeping it straight. And the floating plates: They move so that my hair is always flat between the plates, and they're beveled. I can make my hair curl at the ends with just a twist of my wrist. I swear; that's all it takes.I was done in minutes and my hair was sleek and beautiful. It looks much more healthy and shiny than when I use a blow dryer and round brush for straightening. That makes this styling wand my new number one weapon in my beauty arsenal. Total love. <3

The hair straightener is well designed. Beyond some previous types, it has an adjustable temperature, which can be viewed by looking at which of the four lights are on, and cycles through them with a touch of a button. The control is in an easy to access place, and there is also and auto shutoff feature in case you leave and forget to power down the device. Some other straighteners get somewhat hotter, but I think the lower temperatures even at the highest are by design here so as not to damage the hair. Power cord has a protective swivel design on the attachment, end to keep it from damage. The ceramic base allows the hair to flow through, but using the styling comb, it gets caught and comes off a bit too easy. Well designed but a bit more expensive than most models out there. A mild recommend based on quality

One of my favorite aspects of this tool is that it felt lighter than others I have used meaning my arm doesn't get tired as quickly using it. It does a great job of styling and the heat settings work quickly and it comes in an elegant box for gift giving. I liked the ceramic plates as they didn't yank on my hair but both my daughter and I didn't really like the removable styling comb as it could get caught in our hair at times so we threw it away. The pale pink color stands out in my drawer of straighteners and this one is very well made and I prefer it over my other three.
