My carpets have never been cleaner!
This vacuum cleaner is incredible! It has transformed our carpets far beyond what seemed possible, including a room that we'd started pricing up to get new carpet. We have 3 dogs and our previous vacuum cleaner claimed to be specially designed to lift pet hair from the carpet. The Shark has proved that claim to be absolute rubbish! It's expensive (although I bought it with a large Prime Days discount) but it's far cheaper than new carpets and the whole house feels and smells fresher.Despite the incredible suction it's also much quieter than our old vacuum. It comes with a bag for the accessories which keeps them together and you can store 2 on the vacuum itself for quick access. The built in air freshener was something I assumed was a gimmick that I would not replace when it ran out, however it's actually a lovely extra feature that I will keep topped up.It's a little on the heavy side, especially when it's sucking itself to the carpet so strongly, but that is a tiny downside compared to just how effective it is.The biggest issue is how old it makes me feel! I shouldn't be this happy with a vacuum cleaner and it's a clear sign that middle age is here! If you are still clinging to your youth then this might not be the right vacuum cleaner to buy.

Cleans really well including pick up dog hair - powered brush FTW.
Cleans ever so well. We have a black Lab and his hairs go everywhere and this machine cleans them all up from our thick carpets. The powered brush hasn't clogged up with hair or bits of thread yet, and that's after using it for months. And it's a powered brush! This is the main reason I bought this vacuum as I was sick of turbo brushes on my Henry getting lazy over time.I love the way it comes apart at the push of a button so you can easily carry the dust collector (the bit with the motor) up the stairs to clean them.Filtration is good, three separate filters, two washable and one where you can tap out the dust. Buy yourself a spare set.The dust collector holds a decent amount of stuff, just over a weeks worth of vacuuming (we live in a fairly big semi detached gaff). The other thing I love about it is that it will happily roll from a hard floor and onto a doormat, I've never had a vacuum cleaner that does this before.Criticisms:The power cord is almost long enough to reach without swapping sockets. 1 more metre, please. The dust collector needs two hands to open it, I would like to have it open with one hand at arms length over the bin instead. It's a little heavy to push round (but heavy means quality, right?)These criticisms are for Shark to read really, don't let me put you off buying one.I would buy this same unit again in a heartbeat, it's a brilliant machine, sucks like a hole in a spacesuit and picks everything up, right to the edge of the carpet.

Very effective at cleaning, thoughtfully designed, and high-quality build
Shark claims this is "THE BEST OVERALL CLEANING OF ANY CORDED UPRIGHT VACUUM", and we have no reason to doubt that. It cleans carpets noticeably better than the Shark portable liftaway this is replacing, eradicating cat hair, and leaving the carpets looking professionally cleaned.Cons: this model is significantly heavier (at 7.5kg) than the portable liftaway, which can make manoeuvring in tight corners a bit of a struggle, and wouldn't want to carry it up and down stairs much. Also expensive, but we got a very attractive Prime Day deal.Pros: the powered head pulls the vacuum along effortlessly, and the overall mass is very well balanced on the wheels, so with a little practice it's little effort to move around when powered off.The powered head in liftaway mode cleans under beds and tables much better than any previous cleaner we've owned. The "additional attachments" include a duster and a powerful upholstery brush which is also excellent for carpet in tight corners. The design of the dirt canister is improved; emptying and cleaning are much easier than the predecessor. The power switch on the handle is a big improvement.Overall build quality is very good, with robust and thoughtful engineering.

Great vacuum cleaner. Bit expensive though!
Replaced a Shark vacuum that was 5 years old and had become a bit tired (and maybe damaged by too much vacuuming builder's dust and stuff!). Chose this as it had everything, just about, that we wanted. Only thing missing is that the crevice tool has no integrated brush attachment. Suction is fantastic, perhaps a bit too strong as it doesn't reduce suction enough on doormats. The edge suction is terrific, it detects and boosts power along edges and easily sucks up stuff the previous model would have left behind. It is on the heavy side, even using the lift-off option, but it's manageable, particularly as we live in a bungalow so no stairs to cope with. Particularly impressed by the light on the hose when using hand tools, and all the lights when vacuuming too. And it looks good too!! Biggest disappointment was the price dropped by fifty quid days after we bought ours and Amazon don't care.
