I recently repaired two APC ES750 UPS's which were unable to charge their internal batteries. These units were about seven years old, so the original RBC17 batteries were well past their expected lifetime. In my application, these aftermarket replacement batteries work well, although I discovered a problem with the UPS units which prevented their batteries from being charged. The ES750 UPS's both had a defective electrolytic capacitor (330 uF, 25V rating) which disrupted the charge circuit. You can measure the charging current by inserting an ammeter in series with one of the battery leads. Initial charging current (on a discharged battery) should be about 0.4 A on a working ES750. The capacitors exhibited a slight bulge at the top of the can where the vent is located, indicating electrolyte leakage, a fairly common problem with electronics. When removed from the pc board, they both measured very low on a capacitance meter. They were not shorted, just low on capacitance. Replacing the capacitors and batteries restored proper operation. Both UPS's work fine now. Hopefully they're good for another five years or so. I suspect the run time might be slightly less with the replacement 7 AH battery, but I'm willing to accept this compromise to save $ on the purchase price of the battery. One note of caution: I don't recommend repairing a UPS unless you have experience in this area. If you do, observe proper polarity when replacing the electrolytic capacitor.

While had already upgraded to better UPS, bought this battery to extend life of predecessor. The predecessor is an APC Back UPS 650 ES. While arrived on schedule, battery was only in a padded envelope. Fortunately it is sturdy, but the amazon pic of the terminals is worth noting. They are narrower than my APC used and was concerned over potential to fall off. I contacted seller and they sent adapters. The adapter are an improvement but was extra work to get them seated well. Not sure why the battery had wrong size terminals originally.Would have preferred to get battery with the correct size terminals. At the very least, it cannot be very expensive to ship adapters with the battery. Concerns me whether other compromises may have been made. Time will tell.

Installed 4-16-2015 - It fits perfectly and is a great price but my APC performance monitor says only 6 minutes of estimated battery back up time. It has worked through a couple of power flickers now but haven't had a power outage yet to see how long it will actually last. It's only been installed a little over a week now but no problems so far.Update 5-14-2015 - APC performance monitor now says less than one minute back up power time. Had some storms yesterday (but no power outages) and computer shut down twice....battery did not provide any back up power. I do not recommend this battery....spend the extra money and get the original APC.Update 5-17-2015 - For the record, the seller, Ace Comp Solutions has agreed to replace this battery. I give them a thumbs up and a "great seller" recommendation. Hopefully the next one will work better. I will update this to give performance review of the next battery after I receive it.Update 5-29-2015 - I received my replacement battery a week ago. One day after installing it my APC performance monitor shows 6 minutes of back up power available. After one week it is now saying 2 minutes of back up power. My one star rating still stands.

Item shipped promptly and advertised accurately. Battery terminals are proper match for slide-on terminals of the UPS model specified. The battery terminals of new or replacement units usually have plastic protectors on one or both of the contacts - this battery is shipped with simple non-conductive wrapping - a minor point. Will this replacement last as long as original? Based on my experience, the answer depends on number of charge/discharge cycles. I expect it will be as reliable.

I experienced for the first time a audio beep from my unit, (going on 9 yrs since we purchase it). It was not working at all..prepared to throw it out but checked APC website and there I learned that the battery could be the problem..They wanted $45.00 for a replacement for a discontinued item. It came to me to check out Amazon.com to see if they sold this item...I was so amazed that they did and approx. $13.00 and free shipping included..so I ordered it saying to my self, if it does not work I can throw it out without any hesitation...I just got my battery from Amazon, less then 4 days and my APC system is back functioning...Thank Amazon for the service you provide your customers....

Wasted money. I thought if I could keep the UPS running another year it would be worth it. The second replacement battery from 2012 was finally dying but still worked. Just didn't hold a very long charge during a recent power outage. This battery shorted out my system. I unplugged unit after turning it off and removed the old battery. A little bit of a struggle to connect the new one and I got a spark and smoke when connecting it. The connections were correct. Now the unit won't turn on with either battery or even run plugged into power. This battery killed my unit so I guess I'm tossing the whole thing. This battery doesn't have the nifty plastic mounting bracket the black wire has on the OEM one and is difficult to mount. It keeps sliding off when you try to put the battery back in...anyway... Now I have to buy a whole new unit... Don't really want to. Thanks excessups for your cheap product..

This battery came fully charged and worked immediately in my APC backup. At exactly 6 months it failed but had a 1 year warranty. Contacted seller who prorated the battery and is sending a new one @ 1/2 price and free shipping. Sounds fair to me. I just hope this battery holds up for the full 1 year warranty at minimum. Seller public relations is good.

Only a few months after I bought this, it stopped holding a charge. (deducting one star for this) It was replaced quickly and without fuss. That one kept its charge.
