Sony WMEX194S Silver Tape Walkman

This is not exactly the Rolls-Royce of cassette players, but it doesn't have the same price tag either. This is a simple piece of equipment, with actual moving parts! It plays tapes, has a volume control and clips to your belt so you can listen to Motown while cutting the lawn. The earphones are pretty good too, and I can enjoy my tapes again - even though I have acquired tinnitus since I first heard them, so am probably missing some of the subtleties of the music! It also has a 'Mega-Bass' slider - which does add a little bit of bottom, but not too much. Overall it is just like it used to be - but a heck of a lot cheaper now! Next time you are at a car boot sale and see a box of tapes going for a fiver - grab them and then order one of these!

This Walkman cannot claim to be ultra hi-fi since it does not have provision for switching between tape tapes, or for switching on Dolby. Given that, it does a remarkably good job, with a clear sound and stable pitch. Care needs to be taken when opening the battery compartment not to damage the cover. At the price it may be regarded as a bargain.

I have a lot of audio books on tape that I wish to play in the car. Even recording all the tapes and converting them to CD would take an age so this 'item from the past' fits the bill. It is a bit flimsy and not as well built as the original classic Walkman but it works fine and relatively speaking this is far,far cheaper. The specifications regarding length of time the batteries last are remarkable.I have not used it for long periods and only time will tell whether the specs are reliable. It will also depend, I suspect, on the type of batteries used.

This is the second walkman of this type, The battery life is phenomenal. An excellent product, which I would recommend to any one with audio books to listen to. The only thing I would like is auto reverse, but it is is not worth paying a lot extra for it. I have used the walkman for input of recorded audio text to PC or Mac. It is also very lightweight

Glad to find this as I have a great number of well-loved tapes. Sorry its being discontinued but this should last a good few years.

The Walkman was not complete, it did not have any headphones, I purchased a new set, but the volume from the Walkman is very poor. I am going to try a more expensive set, but if they do not work, I will return the Walkman for a full refund

Purchased 2 years ago as a back-up for my CD player, great quality and still working so no need to rid of my cassettes as yet, i'll hold on the them.

Excellent tape player that's light, easy to carry and easy to use. I bought this for my dad who's deaf in one ear and he finds it very easy to use, loves the simple layout and really appreciates how loud the volume can be so that he can hear the music quite well.

C'est le deuxième que j'achète, celui-ci pour mon épouse. Nous apprenons une langue étrangère et un walkman est beaucoup plus pratique qu'un MP3. Je ne peux donc donner mon avis du point de vue musical, mais pour la répétition, c'est l'idéal. Il supporte de nombreux arrêts et démarrages. Très bon produit.

Sony stellte vor geraumer Zeit die Produktion tragbarer Kassettenspieler ein. Als letzter Produzent ist nun das Ende dieser Ära besiegelt. Da meiner Schwester ihr alter Kassettenspieler kaputt gegangen ist, konnte ich sie mit diesem Sony-Gerät überraschen. Das Gerät ist aus Plastik und wirkt etwas billig. Die Klangqualität dagegen ist wie bei jedem einfachem Kassettenspieler. Es ist kein Radio und kein Equalizer eingebaut. Die Batterielaufzeit ist für einen Kassettenspieler sehr gut (17-20 Stunden im Betrieb). Zum Betrieb werden 2 R6 Akkus/Batterien benötigt.

Très utile pour utiliser les cassettes audios, fonctionne très bien et bonne qualité, je le conseil pour les nostalgiques des cassettes.
