I think this is a good candy thermometer. I make a few things like cracker jack that I need to get it to higher temps as well as glass candy. It's easy to read, has both Fahrenheit and Celsius temp readings. It comes with a protective cover as well. I've used it a handful of times and it's been easy to clean off (as far as having sticky candy on it goes). Definitely would recommend.

I don't make candy much at all, but I love having a candy thermometer handy anyway. Candy thermometers are useful because they measure higher temps than what many meat or other food thermometers do. I don't have an actual deep fryer, but occasionally do "deep frying" by just heating up some oil in a deep skillet. My meat thermometers only go up to about 200 degrees, but I need the oil to heat up to about 375 degrees. This candy thermometer will work great for that because it goes up to 400 degrees. My old one broke, so I needed a replacement. I haven't actually used this yet, but it seems to be good quality.

The media could not be loaded. I love that it has a pot clip while you’re cooking & reading.. it makes me feel safe knowing that the thermometer is not going anywhere plus it’s adjustable. It’s also easy to see the markings because it’s made of a clear glass & its oversized readings. Now, I feel more confidentin creating candies, jelly, the right syrup texture, and even fritters which one of my favorite appetizers.

I just got this and was happy to see it arrived in good condition. I used it to measure the temp of a sauce and it appears to work fine. I don't have anything to test it against for accuracy, but it seems to give the correct temp and it feels pretty sturdy so it should last if I'm careful with it.
