Pass
Unfortunately, this egg cooker just food not live up to my expectations. I have owned 3 egg cookers and this one seems to be the most annoying to use. I don't particularly think it works as well as the other two, which is a shame.

Shame
I really wanted to like this because I am desperately looking for a convenient way to cook eggs and especially cooking eggs to different levels of done-ness that could be a little complicated but nope. This is just a big blunder and it does suck because I like so much in terms of structure and function. I like the rounded more tall square shape than others I've seen that are more rectangular. I like the convenience of the lifting portable anti-scald handle for taking out my eggs easily. I like the simple button function though I do agree with others that its a little confusing and not at all clear. The outside of the machine doesn't get hot which is actually good because if you're someone like me who's negotiating all your counter space you might not be able to leave this machine just sitting out on your counter and need to move it as soon as your egg is finished cooking. And that...is about all the good things I can mention because from there its pretty much all downhill. The button function is simple but the light-up numbers are confusing. To echo other reviewers the 'notification' system is flawed and the English instructions are so mediocre. I had to use a mix of the online ad and the written text to try and figure out how to even get this whole thing running and from there I just didn't get the results it promised.I went for the soft-boiled egg or 'soft'heart' egg because I felt that would be the true test of how capable the machine was and I followed the instructions to a tee AND even took the extra step of putting the egg in an ice bath to prevent the egg from continuing to cook because what do you know the first time I tried that setting and simply removed the egg I ended up with a hard-boiled egg.Well, that was an improvement because what I got the second time around for my efforts was a raw egg. Yay! I'm not doing a third time especially with all the other reviews calling this for the non-functional product it is. Ultimately twice is enough for me to conclude this product needs to go all the way back to the drawing board and start over. You want to know the funny thing? When you take your egg out and leave the machine plugged in it doesn't turn off! It stays on and gets super hot and actually becomes bubbling boiling hot. I was shocked how hot it got.The best thing this product has going for it is its shape, otherwise its a failure. If they can:Get WAY better instructions and English translations.Spend the extra few cents to make the instruction sheet a page longer and spread things out a little more so the tiny print is easier to read.Fix the machine to cook to appropriate temperature.ACTUALLY MAKE THE ALARM THEY CLAIM THEY HAVE WORKHave a shut off function after the machine reaches its assigned levelCook, but that's kind of the whole point.Just a lot of things they need to correct and maybe they'll have a decent product, till then this is going in the garbage.

Love it!
I love this little thing. It works great, super simple to use, my only gripe is two things:1. The instructions were not super clear. Eventually, I realized the issue was that it mixes up which button does what. Which! That’s a big deal! It claims there’s a 7th function, but there is no 7 on the machine. Kind of a bummer.2. It references an indicator of the max amount of water to put in the machine. There is no indicator. I looked. It doesn’t exist. Both of these issues are with the manual. Update the manual, and this will be perfect.

Slightly Complicated
The Newthinking Rapid Electric Egg Cooker is slightly complicated. This isn't a toss and go gadget. It requires prep that includes adding water to get to the final product. I also did not like that it doesnt shut off. The time just lets you know time is up. The eggs are good, but I wanted something easier to set up. This is easy to clean and has a small footprint that makes it simple to store.

Mostly use for hard cooked eggs
This works great and allows for easy peeling of hard cooked eggs. The directions are easy to follow other than some translation mysteries. One thing I found is that when trying to find times for a hard boiled egg vs a soft boiled egg is that a hard-boiled egg is referred to as a sandy yolk egg in the instructions. Still, easy enough to figure out and operate. It's small which is exactly what I wanted.

Not Accurate
A very useless product. It can only steam 4 eggs at most. The degree of steaming eggs is not as accurate as the instructions. It is also difficult to clean. I really don't recommend it.

Does not work
I'm disappointed that this egg steamer doesn't work right. Here's what the directions say it's SUPPOSED to do after you put the egg(s) in and add water halfway up the eggs and plug it in:1. You select the type of egg cooking function - I tested Tea Eggs and Onsen Eggs2. Once you select the function, after a moment a countdown timer appears3. The device heats the water to the appropriate temperature4. The timer begins to count down while the heater continues to run5. When the timer reaches zero the device beeps 6 times, the heater goes off, and the device returns to standby.BUT, this is what ACTUALLY happens:1. You select the function and a timer appears, just like above2. The device begins to heat the water and at the same time the timer starts counting down. While the water's still cold!3. When the timer reaches zero it beeps EIGHT times and the display returns to 4 dots, indicating standby4. But it's not really in standby because the heating element stays on5. It runs like that until it boils away all the water, then the heater stops. No beeps, no display change,SO, it will only make overcooked hard boiled eggs no matter what function you pick, and you'll have to wait till it boils away the water unless you time it yourself and then unplug it. I can cook eggs myself a lot easier and quicker, this thing is a flop. 1 star.

pretty good but unclear
The name of the eggs on this product are not entirely meant for a US-based audience. It's taken a bit of a learning curve - even with the manual as it's not in complete english. It's nice to have a dedicated egg cooker, I just wish it was more obvious what a "sand egg" was. And similar.
