Cinderella [DVD]

Very good 😊

I have been waiting since I first saw this on television for this to come to DVD. This is an interesting and memorable version of Grimms' story. Reviews I have read rightly praise the performances of Turner and Phillips. Marcella Plunket, as Cinderella, is also brilliant. She gives an excellent performance as the lead character, well supported by Jane Birkin as the mermaid fairy godmother. I found the scenes featuring the pair particularly memorable. The script was well conceived, featuring a great deal of humour within it but never oversimplifying the main plot. Well worth watching and enjoying again.

My sister told me about this version she watched it on Channel 4 and she said Kathleen Turner played the wicked step mother Claudette and Zezolla's slippers are made of Rose Petals and Zezolla tries to warn her Farther that Claurdette is a Murderess. And I found out that this version was part Channel 4 Learning for educational purposes for high schools. And I'm glad it's been realsed on DVD :)

Loved this as a child when it was on TV and could never find a copy on DVD. Takes me back to the millennium!

No fault

There is little good that can be said of this travesty. It is neither a modernization nor an updating. It depends upon the viewer getting absorbed in colour and action and neglecting plot, dialogue or chronology. Don't bother.

It is my favourite dvd! Very funny!

Don't buy this DVD cause it's won't work on U.S. disc players. Sorry I brought it.
