How long are the electrical leads?

About 13 inches. The leads are a perfect replacement for the ones on the original equipment Weber igniter.

What keeps the outside of the wires from melting or burning off?

Not sure what kind of grill your putting this on but mine has a separate tray that handles the three nobs for the burner and the igniter switch I have a Weber Genesis about 10 years old the wire never touches anything that would make wires to melt

Will this work with a Weber Performance grill?

When I replace my unit, I first took it out and compared it to the picture on the Internet. I selected the one that matched, put it in, and it does work just fine.

Do you sell just the sheetmetal part?

Whether the sheet metal is sold separately or not,considering the fact the whole unit is eight dollars, why would you take a chance on replacing half the unit and perhaps having to replace the other half a short time later
