Why pay $250 when you can get this for $25
Best axel lock knife. D2, full aluminum scales, smooth action, and razor sharp. This is my favorite knife

Easy opening. Maybe too easy...
The metal scales seem well made. But no question - this ain't a Benchmade! The blade dulled quickly, but is still usable for the basic pocketknife role. The blade doesn't bind at all. Quite the opposite. In fact, it swings so freely that you better make sure flesh is out of the way when closing, and the pivot bolt will not tighten any farther to provide increased blade tension. After a few weeks of light use and a little fidgeting, the blade has a little bit of side flex when locked open. Overall 3 stars for durability/function, but I'll add back a star for looks.

Excellent - Minor grievance
This aluminum scaled version is well worth the small $10 premium over the G10 scaled imitations. No vertical blade play, and excellent CNC’ing on the scales.I changed out the black screws for blue titanium (minus the aftermarket pivot screw because it caused vertical blade play. Remember this if you’re going to order new screws!!!!! Aftermarket pivot won’t work, Must keep original pivot.) I also changed the black clip to a blue titanium clip, but ironically the black steel clip it comes with is much stiffer and there was no need to change other than aesthetics.I also added a red aluminum back spacer, however I was required to drill out the back spacer holes just slightly larger than they came, so it would line up and fit in this knife.Only one negative: one of the springs came shaped like a V instead of a U which caused a not so nice feeling with the axis lock. Manufacturer refunded me for a cost of springs and I replaced those with new omega springs.

A competent slim folder
The media could not be loaded. This knife has grown on me since I first opened it. It comes in a simple box in a skinny drawstring pouch, minimal presentation. The knife is thin and light, the handle is just two scales of aluminum with some grooves, there’s not a lot to it. Uses a pivot lock/slide lock with a spring behind it that gives the blade some resistance when closing. I can operate this one handed, left handed. It only has the thumb stud for opening, but it works smoothly once I got used to using a stud again. The listing showed it with gold, but I got red, and I like the red much better. It’s the only color accent, but it looks great. The grip is aluminum with no polish, just raw cut metal. This is good. Easy to keep clean, there’s fewer seams.I don’t know why it has extra holes for the clip, maybe to customize. The clip on it is small but firm. Holds well to lightweight summer short pockets. This blade has no markings. The listing says D2. It is surprisingly sharp. This has an edge like a scalpel, and it is not dulling on me as fast as I expected. When I first saw this knife in person I had low expectations. It has surpassed them. I find myself carrying this frequently. It’s reliable and sharp.
