This has been wonderful for vacuum sealing mylar bags
Reliable 5-Gallon Vacuum Chamber for Mylar Bags and Jars I’ve been using this stainless-steel 5-gallon vacuum chamber on a weekly basis to remove air from mylar storage bags filled with freeze-dried food, and it never disappoints. After loading each bag with food and an oxygen absorber, I seal it with my impulse sealer, snip a tiny corner at the seal, then place up to six bags in the chamber. Within a minute or two of pumping, the gauge climbs to 25 inHg, I flip the valve, and the bags fully collapse—no trapped pockets of air left behind. When removing, grab the bags at the snipped corner to keep air from getting back in. A little is ok, the oxygen absorber will take care of that! The chamber itself feels like a hefty, over-sized cooking pot: rock-solid, corrosion-resistant, and a cinch to clean. Its silicone o-ring seal holds vacuum reliably as long as the lid is centered, and the clear analog gauge makes monitoring simple. The pump is impressively powerful—you’ll hit target vacuum faster than on most hobby-grade setups. Spaciousness is another win. You can fit up to five quart jars (with the rings backed off a quarter turn) or about 6 pints without jostling. I’ve run hundreds of mylar bags and dozens of jars through this system, and it shows virtually no wear. The included instruction sheet covers the essential assembly, but again, it is not specifically sold to vacuum mylar bags. I paired mine with a few YouTube tutorials to perfect my technique. Here are my top tips: - Center the lid evenly to prevent leaks or breakage of the lid - Cut just the corner of impulse-sealed bags to let trapped air flow freely - Loosen jar rings by about ¼ turn so lids pop on airtight as the chamber vacuums Occasionally the jars won't seal, check for debris on the rim or jar lid. Sometimes I have to use a jars sealer. (This is not a knock to the product as it was not specifically sold for this use) Pros - Durable stainless-steel construction; easy to sanitize - Strong pump; quickly reaches 25 inHg - Generous interior holds multiple bags or jars per cycle Cons - Basic chamber assembly instructions; plan to supplement with video guides - Analog gauge can be slow to settle—watch it closely Overall, this vacuum chamber is a fantastic value for anyone serious about long-term food storage or glass-jar sealing. It delivers consistent, commercial-grade performance at a hobbyist price.

Good product
The product works really well once you get it assembled. They send spare gaskets and washers for assembly which you'll need to tighten the guage. After it's pressurized it holds for at least 24 hours. I haven't tested longer than that nor do I need it for longer than that.

Fast vacuum holds for days
Works very well. Creates a vacuum quickly and holds as long as you want.

Defective or just a bad product??
I rolled the dice on this since I had read some reviews that said it would not keep pressure. Well, as luck would have it, I just used it for the first time and it ruined a project as it would not hold a seal no matter how I tried. Now I have to see if it can be returned.

Great system!
My wife decided to clean up the pantry and put all the dry goods in mason jars. This allowed me to vacuum multiple jars at once. It pulls a much deeper vacuum than the typical vacuum for jars and bags. The pantry looks great and the dry goods are going to last longer. Be aware this requires oil to get this level of vacuum and does release some into the air when in use. Reasonably priced and easy to use if you’re familiar with this area. I have also used it to pull moisture out of 3D Printing filaments and bubbles out of resin epoxy. The vessel seals better than I expected and will hold a 28.5” + vacuum for days. The pump pulls down the vessel quickly.

As expected
Seems to be a good product so far.

Nicely built but needs better assembly guide, special oil.
Would benefit from better assembly instructions but solidly machined and functional once you purchase your own appropriate (and required m) oil.
