Quite the upgrade to what I had
So I've had the Big Boss air fryer for 3 years. It worked great but recently died on me. I was thinking about getting another one but I decided to try newer technology. So, I stumbled on to this space aged looking thing and WOW, I'm impressed with it. I've only used it 4 times at this point, but thus far, it's a HUGE upgrade from the Boss. I didn't realize how much better this thing would be than what I have had, but there's a very big difference. My previous unit required the fries to be turned over, if you wanted an even cook. I also had to add oil to the old unit, but not to this one. Raw, frozen chicken tenders cook in 20 minutes as opposed to 30-35 minutes in my other one. You do have to turn raw items and thick items over for an even cook, which is perfectly fine with me. Cheese sticks...done in 10 minutes with no oil or turning them over. I plan on using the basket to cook fries and chicken wings in, and I'll update this review at that point. Thus far, this thing gets 5 stars easily.**UPDATE on 9-14-18**Well I just used the basket for the fries and not surprisingly, they turned out perfectly. I did frozen fries for 25 minutes on 450 degrees and you'd think that I had added oil to the fries, but I didn't. I have made chicken wings, fries, pork chops, and even re-heated pizza in this thing, and everything turns out perfectly. It also helps to have common sense, realizing that you have to turn over items that are raw and if you want both sides to have a crust on them. Excellent piece of equipment! 5 stars all the way!

Good while it lasted
Loved this unit. We used it almost every day which may have been the reason why it died. After two years, it has finally stopped working. We cooked everything from sausages, steaks, chicken, and pork. Loved that steaks came out evenly cooked and could set a crust on it. Chicken came out nice and crispy.Took off a star since I was expecting to use this for at least five years.

Wow, the Cook Joy Multifunctional Air fryer is terrific!!!!
I've cooked pork chops, steaks, frozen fries, dried kale chips, fried dill pickles, fried avocado slices and so many other things. I've been super impressed with it and clean up is a breeze. So impressed that I'm disappointed when making a meal where I don't use it. I also invested in an air fryer cookbook Air Fry Genius: 100+ New Recipes for EVERY Air Fryer (The Blue Jean Chef) which has given me tons of ideas and provided me with estimated times of cooking, although this is something that you will learn as you use the air fryer. I am guilty of over cooking items based on look, especially meats, so I invested in a good meat thermometer. The Cook Joy air fryer has been used everyday (and more than once a day on many days) for two weeks and I love, love, love it. I read a lot of reviews of all the different brands of air fryers and checked them out at retail stores. Many felt flimsy and had small food capacity. Although the Cook Joy didn't have very many reviews, I liked the almost 10 quart capacity, and the fact that you can view the cooking progress without pulling a basket out of the fryer, so I pulled the trigger and ordered it. When it arrived I was pleased with how well built and solid it is. I'm extremely pleased with it, I sure hope it lasts, because I will be lost without it. :)

Here's what I know!
I have had my unit since Nov 2018, 1 yr - 3 months.Pros1) The unit is still working well.2) It does exactly what it was designed for. Cook food with less oil.3) Clean up is very easy. A) Prior to cooking, I Add water 1/2" of water to keep drippings from sticking on the bottom of the pan. B) Cleaning - Dump the dripping & rinse with hot water. Then Simply add about an inch of hot water in the unit, add the grate, & run the unit at 160 to 180 degrees for 30 mins. After the unit has cooled, Then use soapy water & a sponge to finish the cleaning process.Cons1) After about 1yr the coating in the pan has started to chip. Since I fry food on the grate this wasn't a big concern, but coatings shouldn't chip.2) Now the chrome coating on the grate has worn away. This is a big concern, because I use the grate to fry all my foods.3) Minor issue is the pan doesn't sit in the unit well. It is slightly warped & it will only sit flush when the top is down4) The grate only has 3 legs, so when adding, turning, or repositioning meat on the grate the grat will tip & you meat will fall into the bottom of the pan. Since I use a 1/2" of water in the bottom of the pan to keep drippings from sticking, seasoning can wash away or the food can get covered with the drippings. If your careful this doesn't happen often, but it can be a minor nuasance. In My opinion, in order to save money and reduced costs this company went cheap on the pan coatings, and they didn't make the grate out of Stainless Steel as they should have.Average or below average unit. I would suggest looking for a better unit. On the plus side it did work well for 1 yr. You deside!!!
