Crystal clear water, less work
I can't say enough about these! My water has stayed crystal clear since switching over at least 2 months ago. Using a lot less chemicals, water feels soft and have yet to need to backwash. I did backwash 1 time just to see what the water looked like and it came out a milky color, not the brown or murky color it use to with sand. I didn't see any instructions saying if or how to clean these filter balls, but upon reading from many different sources, it appears at the end of the season, I'll drain water from pump, put all the "cottontails" in a mesh bag and wash in washer and return to pump. As the pic shows, I keep my 2 toddler grandsons, so you know there's some particles getting in the pool, that shouldn't be in there. I'm mainly just using chlorine tabs on floater, keeping ph balanced and the occasional shock after heavy rains and storms. I have a small pool 12'x30", but am upgrading to an 18'x48" pool next spring, since these work so well!

AMAZING
We purchased these for our sand filter as filtration media in lieu of sand. Our pool stays miraculously clean. I don't even understand how they are working so well. I rarely have to vacuum my pool, it seems whatever the skimmer misses the filter takes care of with these bad boys inside.Tip: When you place them in your filter, wet them down and let them settle, then add more. Otherwise they compress and you don't have adequate filtration.

Season One done and I’m happy
The media could not be loaded. Well first season done and in the book. The Cotten Tails worked great. Always had clear water. Filter pressure never went above 10 psi. I only backwashed once and did that just because. So got them out today and threw them through the wash. They came out just as white as when new. As seen in one picture a few did come apart. Can’t wait till next pool season. We used HTH and Clorox chemicals and pool size is 15000 gallons

Not worth time or money
Did not keep water clear at all. Pump kept no pressure and vacuuming did nothing. All debris shot back into pool. Cleaning the balls was a several hour task and still did not filter correctly. Stick with sand

So far, so perfect.
So far these things are amazing. Notice a huge difference in the first week. Will update if things turn south.Update: a month in and our pool is still crystal clear. I've only backflushed once and that wasn't because I needed to, it was to make sure I had maximum pressure to run the robot bottom skimmer. I can't encourage folks enough to get these if your using sand. The money you save on pool chemicals alone would allow you to replace these monthly but you don't need to. Will update again as the summer goes on.

Works and my filter is still working.
So far so good! I’ve been using these for a month I have a Haywood 300lb sand filter and my water is crystal clear. My only concern is it seems as do it does require a few extra chlorine tabs to keep the levels right. It’s a little on the pricey side for lots of cotton ball looking media. My filter now runs at about 15 psi.

Easy and work well
I was unsure about trying these, but so far they have worked great! Much easier to deal with than sand. Pool has been up for over a month and is super clear. The pump pressure generally runs around around 5 and only jumps a few when the vacuum is running. At this point, I highly recommend.

Not for 15000 gallon pool!
They weren't worth the money we spent! They didn't work for our pool, they gummed up and stuff was coming back into the pool from the pump! Might work on small pool but not on our 15000 gallon pool.
