Taparia 1405 Side Cutting Mini Plier

I purchased the Taparia 1405 Side Cutting Mini Plier for cutting off the ends of my electric guitar strings. It does the job pretty well. Quite small and handy and can easily be carried in the guitar bag. It's a value for money product considering the fancy prices quoted by branded guitar string cutters. Those really cost a bomb compared to this product. Build quality is good. Genuine Taparia mini pliers.The only negative aspect of these mini pliers (my personal view) is that there is nothing provided to keep the cutting end of the pliers closed when not in use. Not a deal breaker though, if you can manage to find some broad rubber band to keep the ends closed.As per the size of these pliers it would ideally be best suited for clipping thin copper or steel wires.

Quality is good but if u use for cutting some metal plate it won't work that perfect cuts hard metal like key key ring but may lack for some type of metal

Good functionality, ease of use and grip.

Try cutting a lead from a 2.5mm header strip. The cutter is too "fat" which means the adjacent leads get in the way and yu are barely able to get the lead into the cutter. You need a more tapered end for electronics work.

After using my last cutting plier for over 10 years, I had damaged it trying to cut a very hard material; and needed to replace. I am really happy with my purchase of this Taparia cutting plier. Taparia is a name I have trusted for past 15-20 years, and this product does not disappoint. It feels sturdy in the hand, with good control on the tip. So far, I have used it to cut and strip through wires ranging from 0.8mm to 2.2mm, and it has given me wonderfully clean results while cutting and also while stripping these same wires. It would have been great to buy this earlier!Additional note - I have owned this for a week, and so far I have used it only to cut AV cables, electrical wire and speaker wires, I have not used it on anything harder. I don't plan to...I will be avoiding stainless steel, glue and such things that easily spoil the cutting edge. If used carefully, I think this plier can easily give 10 years of good working life, or more.

1. Material used it quite good, edges are sharp2. Spring used to bring back is good. I bought 2 pices. On one it was nicely attached. On another it was not positioned properly, so I then took the rubber grip out and noted that it is just placed and not actually tack-welded on the plier. I make a temp fix, but hope the mfg make permanent fixture of spring.3.) Size and shape is quite good, will come to know about how long it sustain these qualities after an year of use only.
