Excellent USB 3.0 HDD Enclosure- eSATA Port a Big Plus Point
I have decided to write a review of this product after a few weeks of using the item. The reason I purchased this product was primarily because of the eSATA port as there are many other HDD enclosures having USB 3.0 ports. This product has both - USB 3.0 and eSATA port.Because eSATA Port is only for data transfer -- you will have to use the enclosed USB 3.0 Y-cable to provide power to the HDD when using the eSATA mode of transfer. In this mode, you need to connect the other end of the USB 3.0 Y-cable to any USB 5V wall charger. If using the USB 3.0 mode --- you only need to connect the USB 3.0 Y-cable to your computer. Connect one end of the Y-Cable to the QZHDD Enclosure and the other 2 ends to 2 USB ports on your computer. My Desktop/Laptop has eSATA ports as well as USB 3.0/2.0 ports and even though both the speeds are theoretical supposed to be --- eSATA (3Gbps) and USB 3.0 (5Gbps) ---- I never did get those speeds, but, I got much better speed using the eSATA port when compared to the USB 3.0 port. But, the biggest plus point of this product is that it can be used more like a secured docking station for 2.5 inch HDD as it is very easy to insert and remove the HDD because there are no screws on the enclosure. So, it becomes very easy to swap any 2.5 inch HDD into this enclosure and you are free to use either the eSATA port or USB 3.0 port (if available on your computer). I have not tried to insert my SSD into this enclosure as SSD are 7mm thick compared to HDD which are 9.5mm thick. Hence, I assume that this product may not be well suited for SSD.The product is very sturdy and there is a light to indicate HDD activity. The locking mechanism is via a sliding switch -- Just slide the switch to lock the enclosure and again to unlock the HDD enclosure to insert or remove your HDD.No drivers are required to be installed for any Windows Operating System on your computer --- true plug and play device.I wish a similar product was available for 3.5 inch (Desktop) hard disk --- but, unfortunately no such product of this type is available with the company. Because this product was very good in quality and performance, I have ended up buying 3 units of the product and am satisfied with all of them.

Easy to assemble, easy to use.
- Wonderful product. The External Hard Drive case was exactly as specified by the seller. The packaging was perfect, and the product delivered on time (actually, a bit in advance, but then, who is complaining?) by Amazon.Note: it is a Hard Drive CASE, and this review will not comment on the CAPACITY of disk drives placed in it.- Case is sturdy, but may lack shock proofing capabilities for the HDD (in other words, if you jar the external HDD when it is powered up, you may damage the HDD)- Installation is easy : press the button on the edge of the 'L' shaped pullout - it swivels out to accept a regular external SATA hard disk drive. Swivel the arm back into the case, and the HDD is mated, internally, with the contacts at the back of the case. No need for screws, screw drivers, magnification lenses, or any such annoying stuff. HDD fits snugly into the case.- Comes with two cables - a SATA cable and a USB3 cable. If the SATA cable is used, the drive requires external power - use the USB3 cable, plug the USB connector at the end of the 'Y' into a USB power source (I tried it using laptop USB ports, as well as a standard 'phone charger': both worked). Photo shows the device, the SATA cable and the USB cable with the Y split. The OS should automatically recognize the device - on Fedora 22, the OS detected the SATA device, as a part of the '/dev/sdX' family WITHOUT the need for any drivers. I am not sure of how a MS Windows (TM) box would detect the device, as I do not run Windows.Use OS based commands to mount and access the device.

so so
It works fine but the finish is Godrej cupboard at best, if you know what I mean and the innards are not that neat or reassuring to look at. Needed it to clone my HDD to replace with SSD - wonder how well it will last with the HDD. Doesn't look as good as the ten dollar cases available on amazon.com

Not recommend
Wire is too loose to fit. If you are using and and you need to put it somewhere than it's not possible because the cable fitting to case is too loose that it detatches very easily. At the same price I recommend you to buy orico 3.0 case.

Disaster
Do not buy this product..... it won't recognize most HDD and will definitely not work with a SSD.....The HDD physical ejection system simply slides over the HDD.... leaving it stuck in the enclosure...the only way to remove your HDD/SSD....is to dismantle this contraption. As far as design of the product is concerned.....the fool who designed such a complex case should be fired.100% waste of time and money.

Strudy Caddy for 2.5 Inch drives
Strudy caddy for 2.5 inch Laptop hard drives. I like the sturdy exterior of the caddy it is made of metal which makes it far better for carrying around. Only con i have was the hinge for closing was bit too stiff to remove and slot the hard drives in place. Highly recommended!!!

but very well built and provides excellent read/write speeds on USB3
not as small as you might expect. but very well built and provides excellent read/write speeds on USB3. the method to eject the hard disk from the case does not work very well if you have the newer very thin hard disks. but for most it does.
