PicoBrew PICO Model C Beer Brewing Appliance, Black Refurbished

Despite its many good reviews, when I went to brew my first batch of beer today the item did not work, no one picked up when I called the customer support telephone number for help, no one replied to my email, and after trying to troubleshoot the problem using the confusing and conflicting instructions found on the company’s website all I managed to do was to destroy 30+ dollars worth of brewing materials that I had purchased in order to make my first batch of beer. Given the lack of customer support and my experience with this item not working, I would strongly recommend against anybody else making the same mistake I did and purchase this item.

Just started drinking my first batch. Very nice beer (I’ve been brewing over 15 years). Only issues were shipping related and that Picobrew wants over $80 shipping to get picopaks to Canada. This means I won’t be using it often until a solution is found...

I bought this as a gift for my hubby. It did make great be but they don't really advertise that you must buy a new brew keg for EVERY batch. So you not only by the machine and the beer pak but you must but a keg too. Adds up quickly for the small about of beer you get for each brew. Hubby decided to go back to his five gallon bucket method. All reusable parts and more beer each batch.

First batch blue up the little keg in fermentation stage. What a huge mess. My husband watched many U-Tube Video's and couldn't understand how you could possibly go through that stage in the mini keg without venting it somehow. No where addressed that that he found. He now has a venting bung to use that he can put a bubbler in. Hope we don't have mess number 2. The initial steps however went well for my husband, not very good for his brother who bought the same machine.

I have had the opportunity to brew beer the cheaters way using beer making kits multiple times. In fact I didn't enjoy that process at all and still have 5 kits which I have yet to touch.Then I read up on PicoBrew and thought to myself how cool would this be to have a machine that would eliminate a number of steps and still produce drinkable beer. I made my desires knowing and my family rewarded me with a PicoBrew C. First attempt was a Stout which at the time I thought was one of the best beers I had ever drank and the fact that I made it was even more impressive. I thought that perhaps I was not assessing the beer fairly since I was the Brew-master so I decided to try my hand at a Porter. To my excitement and surprise this batch was far better than the first with quality head and flavor. I was a little bit in disbelief so I asked a buddy of mine who is as big as a beer snob as myself. His feedback...best home brew he has ever had and would compare it to the best quality craft beer he has had. That was the response I was hoping for and want to make sure the readers out there understand this machine can produce first quality brew.There is cleaning and care that go it to making anything and the PicoBrew is no exception however the process is simple, fairly quick and easy to follow. I would recommend the PicoBrew product to anyone who wants to make their own brew and I would encourage you to give it a shot. The beer I made (2 different times) was OUTSTANDING and I was proud to serve to friends and family.

Not a single brew turned out. The first came out sour, and the next two just failed out during brew process (followed instructions step by step). I have brewed from all grain in the past, and now that we live in an apartment, thought this would be a way to get back into brewing. My advice, buy a good pot, carboy and supplies, and do it from a kit or from scratch - but avoid the PicoBrew.

Easy to operate; makes decent beer. Great if you want to avoid all the cleaning. Allows for frequent brewing without taking all your attention.

Rarely, if ever, do I write a product review. But, this is absolutely the worst product I have ever bought! Multiple error messages. Finally began to brew and in the last stages adding hops, it began leaking all over the kitchen floor. Sitting here writing this review with 3 bowls catching the drainage! Do not buy this...a complete waste.
