Tha Truth

Very good album from Trae, even if it's not as good as a couple of his last mixtapes, yet on par with others. His 'I Am King' and 'Tha Blackprint' mixtapes are of high album quality, so 'Tha Truth' falls short a bit. Still has a lot of good songs, and bumps in your car. "Children of Men" w/ J.Cole is probably the best song on here, another amazing collab by the two. "Trickin Every Car I Got" & "Yeah H*e" are two songs tailor made for the radio, yet don't sound like it was manufactured. Determined & Book Of Life (along with Children of Men mentioned earlier) are content driven songs that long time fans of Trae would be glad to hear on this album, with Realigion with Dej Loaf being a perfect close to 'Tha Truth'.

Kinda disappointed in this cd from Trae. I've been a fan since Gorilla MAAB, but this cd is "Feature Heavy" and seemed like he just put leftover songs together to satisfy a deadline. This cd is not like his previous 2-3 projects. But i'll give it another listen, to make sure I wasn't missing any gems on this album.

Great album. Very diverse. Nice feats! It's an album you can ride to without hitting the next button.

彼のアルバムは幾つも存在しますが、この“Tha Truth”シリーズが彼自身が最も表現したいことを体現していると感じられます。客演にリックロスやティップがいる通り、彼の作品としてはかなり新しい方に入るのですが、90年代の同志・聖友の多くを失った彼として'00年代はかなりキツい時期だったはずです。そういった経緯を踏まえて聞くと、彼の詩の節々に見られる堂々たる威風は、他のラッパーには絶対に真似できないものだったでしょう。　サウスヒップホップを楽しむ方で、スカーフェイス、UGK辺りからA.B.N. に引っ張られてゲリラマーブが気になった方にお勧めです。TraeとZ-Roを遡れば、サウスシーンの移り変わりが垣間見えます。
