Gaahing Self-Adhesive Backing Metal Tape, Flexible Ferrous Memo Strips for Magnets, Bulletin Bar Board Office Home Use (Silver, 16.4 ft x 1.6 in)

I ordered this self-adhesive roll of shiny metal to dress up a 12” section of wall between two built-in shelves. The strip of wall is wide enough to look empty, but not so wide as to allow many option. My idea was to use floor-to-ceiling 8ft strips to break up the space. I placed each strip at 3” from the edge of the bookshelf. The glimmer of metal immediately brightened the space and joined the two bookshelves. I also purchased a 20-pack of magnets with a second use on the horizon. I broke out last year’s Christmas cards for a test drive, and used the magnets to hang them on the metal strips. It looked great, and provided a way to display cards as the mail arrives without needing to erect a seasonal display to enjoy and remember friends and family. I wish I had thought of this sooner!(NOTE: Here’s some FYIs I came up with in later applications. 1.) The metal is easier to manage when it is at room temperature for a few days. A good spot is on top of the fridge. Don’t place in a hot area or the adhesive can be damaged. 2.) Once you cut your pieces to size, lay out each strip flat and weigh them down with a book to help the strips to uncurl. 3.) Once you mount the strips, press the strip firmly, evenly, and often to ensure a strong bond. Allow the adhesive strips to rest for 2-3 days before hanging items, especially heavier items. 5.) To clean/shine up the metal, use a damp (not wet) cloth, moistened with warm water. If you opt for widow cleaner, mist a cloth with cleaner and then lightly buff.

What I have always disliked about my stainless steel frig is that I could not put magnet on the front and therefore couldn't hang pictures of my kids and family....then I found this!The metal tape can be cut with heavy duty scissors, but I do not recommend that as it can create sharp edges. Tin snips will cut it like butter. Once the strips were cut, it was easy to peel the paper off of the adhesive on the back and mount them on the frig. There is a protective layer of plastic on the front side that I also peeled off. I have placed several magnets and pictures on each strip and they are holding well!

So, I bought some magnetic vent covers to seal off the lower level of my townhouse to get more airflow upstairs. Unfortunately, the vents had thick layers of paint such that the magnets wouldn't stick. Even a powerful stick magnet used to pick up screws barely stuck. So, I bought this tape, and put a few pieces on the vent. Then I used the magnetic covers to stick to the tape and hold foam up against the vents. Not the most elegant solution, but it worked. Do follow their instructions and use gloves though...the metal is thin and sharp.

This is a great product. It is easy to use and is a simple solution to make anything magnetic. The adhesive backing holds well. It could ruin a wall, so I do not recommend directly sticking to a wall, unless you plan on it being there forever. Be careful when you cut, as it is metal and can create sharp corners. Also make sure you use a proper cutting tool (i.e. tin snips or specialty scissors made for cutting items like this).

This roll of metal tape is a real game changer when it comes to installing rechargeable LED Motion Lights! Be prepared to use tin snips to cut this material as it is quite stout. The adhesive used is of great qualityand I am confident you won’t have to worry about it detaching. I recommend this product!

This is a great product. It makes it really easy to make any area magnetic so that you can hang different things, and change what is hanging there, easily. It will pull paint off your walls and may even remove some of the sheetrock if you try to remove it. It worked quite well on brick though, and could hold some heavier objects without detaching. It didn’t ruin the brick when it was pulled off. I haven’t yet tried to remove it from the whiteboard, but will update, if that time comes. It also works well as trim, if you want the metallic look. It is easy to pull the backing off of, and put where you want it. This is easy to use, and requires no tools, unless you want to cut sections off, then you’ll need some decent scissors. Good product and quality though!

I haven’t used this yet but the sticky backing looks legit. The metal tape is magnetic and will serve its purpose when I do use it. This looks like it will work to make any thing magnetic.

This has a lot of uses. I currently hung a few strips in my kids rooms to hand their homemade clay magnets to display. Good sticky backing. Can be cut to length with scissors.
