NASA-backed science for optimum muscle growth and recovery. Small bottle. Half filled. Too Sweet.
Reading through the product there is science behind the formulation in which they claim the same amino acid blend was "clinically tested by NASA to preserve muscle function and strength while on deep space missions."You got me at NASA.The Packaging:So I was excited to try this and found within this small packaging is a half-filled product. Why is this always being done? I know settling in chips may occur, but this is powder. Why can't it be filled to at least 3/4 the way up than 1/2 full? For this small bottle there are even less contents. And yes I appreciate the labelling and mat behind this. You don't get any less for sure as they claim you get 250g with one scoop at 10g. So essentially 25 servings. That, I get. What I don't get is that there is this psychological mind game within the packaging itself to help you feel you are buying more value than those big bottles of protein shakes. Which this isn't.And I understand this is what they are trying to compete against. The mindset that this small bottle is at least as effective or more effective even since this Amino Ten formulation is more efficient at muscle growth and maintenance. The powder:No problems here. Easily dissolves in cold water. One scoop, a rigorous shake and it's all incorporated. The taste:So this is the debatable part. I like the wild strawberry taste. It's just right. Not too strong. My issue is the sweetness. It states to dissolve 1 scoop into 8 ounces of cold water. I love sweet. I will eat dessert first than my main meal, but holy cow this is super sweet. I couldn't stand the 8 ounce so I filled up my 22 ounce water bottle and it was still too sweet for my liking. The issue with the taste is that they mask the bitterness of the ingredients with loads of sweetness. Now by diluting the mix further, you cut down the sweetness and taste the underlying bitterness. In any case, diluting the sweetness down to 22 ounce along with the slight bitterness is fine by me.Overall:I will give it 4 stars still despite the above criticisms because it is a tough market. I will update on the effectiveness once I finish the supplement and advise if it's worth it for the price.

Gag Me
They got me with "MRI Amino Ten uses the same amino acid blend that was clinically tested by NASA to preserve muscle function and strength while on deep space missions." "Delays the onset of muscle soreness" was also a positive. I generally run 2-5 miles each morning and was hoping Amino Ten would allow me to kick that up a mile or two without getting too sore.Unfortunately, the formulation is sickeningly sweet. Just one gulp made my stomach churn. Another gulp and It is almost time the throw up. They must have included a ton of Sucralose. Why is it needed at all? I would rather it be a little bitter or whatever its taste is without the Sucralose. I tried watering it down and drinking three times as much liquid. I had to pee 1/2 way through my run and my muscles didn't feel any less sore. Maybe that was a fluke but I'm unlikely to find out. The potential benefits aren't worth the horrible taste.I do like the idea though and will try a competing product. Recommendations?

Very strong sucralose taste, dissolves easily, can't say how effective it is
I wish that I could tell you without a doubt if this product works or not, but the truth is...I can't. I worked out hard for several years, then took time off, and have recently gotten back into it. As a result, I'm not only working out but eating differently (hopefully better), and also trying out this product. The results that I'm seeing might or might not have anything to do with this product. So...I'll describe my impressions of the drink itself and give you my suspicions as to its effectiveness. As for the powder itself, it's dense enough that it doesn't create a huge dust cloud when you scoop it out into the glass - a huge bonus over some other products that I've used. It scoops easily, and it also dissolves pretty easily. I need to stir it in room temperature water for about ten seconds, and while that does leave some undissolved at the bottom, it gets most of it.It tastes like they put at least twice as much Sucralose as they needed, if not way more. I'm not very sensitive to artificial sweetener taste, but this is like a Sucralose nuke. I've eaten Sucralose powder straight a few times, and this reminded me of that. Once that taste dissipates, the strawberry flavor is actually quite nice...but, oh my, that sweetener taste is strong.I feel about as sore after a workout when I drink this as when I don't, and I can't tell any difference in recovery times or muscle retention. I'm assuming that it's doing _something_, but I can't really tell. As a result of that, I won't choose to order more of this. I'd rather eat some protein and get calories along the way, but that's my personal preference. So - the actual results may or may not exist, and the taste might be objectionable to some, tolerable to others, and likely not all that enjoyable to very many people.

Nine essential amino acids plus one conditional amino acid
This protein drink has a pleasant if artificial tart strawberry flavor that also works well as an addition to a smoothie or mixed with lemonade. The powder dissolves easily in liquids. There are 25 servings in the jar, each providing six grams of amino acids. The blend has a high proportion of leucine plus the eight other essential amino acids and the conditional amino acid arginine. This supplement is intended to be used by athletes to enhance muscle growth recovery, repair, and growth, but also works well as a general protein supplement for anyone who does not eat enough protein or whose diet is lacking in certain essential amino acids such as lysine. The plastic jar that I received has an expiration date about eighteen months from receipt. It was less than half-full but contained the stated weight.
