Makes cleaning the ice machine easy

I have an Igloo brand countertop ice maker that holds about 1/2 gallon of water to make ice. Over the few months that I have had it, I’ve had a hard time keeping it free of hard water build up in the bottom of the water tank. And every time I used it (about once a week) there was always some black mold present that I would clean by hand using typical kitchen cleaning products (409, Dawn dish soap, etc), but it was a lot of work and still wasn’t getting the hard water build up out, no matter how much I scrubbed. So I decided to give this product a try. I don’t have a cleaning feature on my machine, so I put 2 oz of cleaner mixed with 1/2 gallon of water into the tank and ran it to make ice. After the tank was 1/2 empty, I added another 1 oz of cleaner with 4 cups of water and ran it again. When the tank was nearly empty, I filled it with just clean water and ran it again until nearly empty. I poured out the excess water and wiped it dry. I was so pleased that all of the hard water build up was gone! I can only assume that any build up or mold I’m not able to view inside the machine was also cleaned out. I will definitely be making this a part of my cleaning routine. Highly recommend!

Good cleaner

We purchased our ice machine a few years ago. I have cleaned with vinegar but couldn't quite get it clean enough. I purchased this ice machine cleaner and I must say I was quite impressed. I ran it through a few ice cycles, dumped the ice and then rinsed the machine with warm water. All calcium build up was gone. Super easy to use. I will be buying again.

Went through an entire bottle trying to get rid of hard scale. While a lot of stuff came out during the multiple cleaning cycles, it didn’t stop the noise being made by hard scale buildup. Ran straight vinegar through the cleaning and ice cycles and it worked way better to stop it. Works perfectly now. I gave it 3 stars because a lot of gunk did come out.
