If your PC is blue tooth capable, go to control panel, then click on "Add Device" and look for USB Devices. There's a small button under the mouse to put it in "discover" mode for pairing up. Once it's paired, your PC remembers it. I like not having that USB piece poking out the side of my laptop, and since I only have one USB port, it gets saved for memory sticks. **Q: mac compatible?** A: Yes, this mouse works with any Bluetooth-equipped Mac. Not all the features work on a Mac but here is what does:- The scroll wheel- All 3 normal buttons (left, right, scroll wheel center button)- Side scrolling (push the scroll wheel to the left or right)The Microsoft Mouse driver for the Mac that is listed on the Microsoft site for other mice can configure the top 3 buttons on this mouse even though Microsoft does not list the software for this mouse.What does not work:The blue Windows button on the side. I can't find a way to access it to make it do anything. In Windows you can click the blue button and run your finger down the side and it vibrates, but there doesn't seem to be a way to use those functions on the Mac. That's fair since it really is a button for Windows, and so much of the rest of the mouse does work fine on the Mac. I still think this is better than most mice. **Q: Is this mouse rechargeable or what batteries does it use? Battery life?** A: My original batteries finally ran out after six months. Most of the time I didn't even bother turning the switch off at night.
