Skinny on Compatibility
I am giving this item a one star. This is simply because this brother model and probably others are not compatible or supported by drivers from brother for Window 11. This is the skinny on this. I have tried and learned over three days of attempting to get it to connect. I tried downloading other software but it is not possible unless brother makes drivers to support which I have read they do not intend to. I will have to return this item and search for other buys.

It just works.
This scanner just works. Bit of setup out of the box to get the Brother iPrint & Scan installed, but once done, press one button, it takes in documents from the scanner, processes them the way I've told it to, and dumps the OCR'ed compressed high quality PDF into a directory on my home server. It just works, and that's the highest praise I am capable of giving a device like this.

Hard to know how it works.
It was hard for me to understand how it works. The only way to scan your data to your computer is through wifi. Does not work with Hotspot. The other way to scan a document is by using a usb flash drive attached to the scanner and then you will be able to transfer your data to your computer.

Sold WITHOUT a $25 part!
Sold WITHOUT a $25 part!This scanner is more trouble than it's worth. The box comes WITHOUT the power cord. This means that you are NOT ABLE to use any of the wireless features unless you buy it's power cord. Thus, you are paying for functionality you can't get unless you go through the process of making an additional purchase. Not worth it!It also feel very flimsy. The on button is sinking and it feels so cheap.

Oh my! This does not come with everything you need to use it right away.
Whether or not this product functions as it should, the fact is that, out of the box, it cannot be used. Maybe if your computer has a USB-C port, you can use it with no problem; however, that is a lot of "if"s. Eventhough this product costs $250, you must order an additional charging cable, and pray that it is the right one to handle the 15 amps of power that it needs to operate. I ordered 2: A thick USB-USB cable and a charging cable. Tell me, Brother, how much effort is it to include the right charging cable in the box the first time? Heck! I might even pay $20 more if I was assured that the product that I bought could be used right away without having to make an extra purchase.
