I used to have black and decker coffee makers but their after sales service was not that good. The last one i had the spares were not available and i opted to go in for a philips and it was the worst decision. The coffees did not brew that great neither did the water get hot enough couple with their lazy service center that took ages to source a carafe and a filter basket and finally no spares available. I decided to go ahead with black and decker again since this was a newer model. The order reached me 4 days late due to some delays but the product was packaged well. First impressions were the product felt plasticy but still felt of better quality than phillips even the carafe was thicker than phillips. On browsing through the information on the box and warranty card i was happy to know the after sales is not handled by the same folks that used to handle it. And they do home visits! The coffee maker has a great programmable feature you can set it up before you sleep and set it to start in the morning. It also will auto shut off after two hours whether you used the programmable mode or the manual mode. The machine brews medium strength coffee, but i will need to experiement with quantity and different roasts and maybe different paper filters. Yea you do not need to use a paper filter but using one may help prolong the filters life and prevent powder from getting into the pot. So far so good it does what it needs to. Drips water slowly onto the powder and has a good spread. Just keep the hot plate clean and dry and it should be great for a long time.

Received yesterday , put it in to use today, brewed good coffee , was hot enough. Good coffee machine. Got no user manual or warranty card, small scoop is missing ,protective plastic wrapping around the head of machine was missing. Probably the product was a return , no evidence of use. Cleaned it and started using , will update if some issue shows up. Update: the display part of the machine is fried. No lED,s no display. Tried to contact Amazon, got forwarded to Black & decker, they again forwarded to a dead end. DONT BUY

This is the WORST coffee maker, I have ever seen or used. Design - The design is so horrible, is not funny. The amount of water which splashes in, is huge. Because the water pouring holes are too many, and the holes are large. More water comes in than the filter can seep through, thus causing a flood inside the filter area. The outlet from the filter area is designed poorly thus causing a much slower than required water egress. That also causes a water flooding. Manufacture - is poorly built. Coffee temperature isn't enough for most times. Capacity - 12 cups of coffee? The cups must be thimble sized. Try not buying this piece of junk.

We have a 15 year old Krups Pro . Unlike this product there is a separate lid for the water tank , wide and easy to pour. Unfortunately a tubing has sprung a small leak and we bought this product since the children were home for Christmas and didnt want water on the table . Everything is ok about this coffee maker except that you need extra care to add water into its tank. Several times the water spills onto the coffee powder because of this or on the table. Because you need to be an acrobat to pour water without spilling it. Its not easy in the morning to be agile enough like a ballerina to pour water in such an awkward way. See the screenshot I have marked the area for pouring water. Compared to this our old Krups can be filled even with eyes closed. So, now we have put this coffeemaker in our store. A little Araldite has fixed the Krups and it is still in use. Maybe will gift this one to someone

This. Is. Great. The closest thing I have seen to my American Coffee Pots, but made for India. Whether making 1 mug of coffee or 6, this works REALLY well. (Coffee pots: "4" = 2 American mugs, "12" = 6 American mugs). The only thing that doesn't work: the digital clock. It doesn't keep time. For 1/2 a day it does, but then it just loses it. Sometimes 5 minutes in 24 hours, sometimes 9 hours in 24 hours! Why does that matter? The FANTASTIC feature where it has a timer: if you set it up the night before, filling it with the right amount of water and coffee grinds, you can set a timer, and it will AUTOMATICALLY BREW COFFEE in the morning! This is a FANTASTIC feature...but with the clock not keeping time, only works if you set it right before bed. A FANTASTIC feature, but a bit of a bother that it does not keep time

I use this coffee maker every day. It works very well and brews quickly. The post-brewing warmer time stated on the manual is 40 minutes. I did not notice this; previous coffee makers I have purchased have a two-hour warming period. I have not timed the warmer to see if it gives me the whole 40 minutes, but it seems to turn off fairly quickly. My work-around is to switch the switch off then back on each time I get a cup. A minor annoyance, and one I would have been aware of if I had checked this. Still, I am only 4-stars happy with this and will check this time in future buys.
