Turns a good tripod into a GREAT Tripod
I'm impressed by the build quality and features of this tripod head. It's amazing how important the right head can be because I was able to transform an otherwise average tripod into something worthy of using with my heavy cinema cameras.Among other things, I love the fact that the quick release plate at the top is full sized, and supports cameras with two mounting screws, like my Blackmagic cameras. This not only gives me added confidence that everything is secure, but that it won't rotate unexpectedly. The Quick Release is very well made and easy to use, most of all it's secure. The fluid head is buttery smooth in all directions and I love the fact that you can adjust or even remove the handle and how easy it is to adjust the sensitivity of the tilt or lock it in place.

Sturdy Aluminum Video Head With Much to Like
The "COMAN Q6 Panoramic Gimbal Video Head" is sturdily made from aluminum and, holding it in your hand, you cannot but be impressed with its relative weight to less sturdily built models. It attaches onto the tripod smoothly and once attached the various knobs and levers and parts work, for the most part, well. These are discussed, below, including the only problem issues I found mentioned in (6) and (7): (1) Two QR Plates. Both of these plates are sturdily made of aluminum. The basic QR plate is 4.5" long, fully filling the entire head's latching mechanism. The smaller EX300 folding plate measures 2.625" on the square and easily opens and closes. It is held in its open/closed position by friction controlled with a 4mm hex screw, the tool for which is held inside the plate. Similarly, the basic plate also has a hex tool held inside it and kept secure magnetically. Both plates come with 1/4" screws already installed but the plates will easily take the supplied 3/4" screw which is screwed into the underside of the video head plate where there are threaded holes for both size screws. (2) Fast Release Lever: I really liked the ease of removing the plates from the head assembly - simply move the big red lever towards the marked open position and it is easily pulled out. Relocking it in place, however, was harder to figure out due to the lack of any instructions dealing with this feature. To close the mechanism a plate must be placed in the mechanism and the lever must then be moved fully towards open again and then moved to the locked position. (3) There is a side Mounted 1/4" screw hole for mounting accessories such as arms or auxiliary lighting. (4) The side arm is telescoping which allows controlling the video head even in tight spaces. (5) There are locking mechanisms for positioining of both horizontal and vertical head panning. (6) As noted above there is the ability for both horizontal and vertical panning. My one complaint with thisfeature of the video head is with the automatic self return from the vertical panning position. While most video heads I have used have a soft self return to level, this video head had problems returning to a level position way too many times. I'm not sure how this can be fixed, and while the user can level the head while using it, I'd be happier if this head, at this cost, went back to level on its own. (7) Balance Level Indicator - while I appreciate the inclusion of a balance level at the top of the mounting base, just above the horizonal panning lock, it is very small and directly under the large video head. This combination of small size and poor placement make it almost impossible to read, especially if you are not leaning directly over it while tilting the movable head down and out of the way.As a whole I like this video head a lot, but the two problems mentioned above, despite sounding small, are more than just niggling. Yes there are ways around both, but you shouold not have to work around features that are touted as a plus but which do not work as they should - especially at this price. Nonetheless, on balance I think the "COMAN Q6 Panoramic Gimbal Video Head" is better than the average video head and I rate it as a soft 4 star product.(Please see below for my rating criteria):=============================================================Disclosure:As noted by Amazon, I am part of the Vine Program which means that I acquire products at no cost in return for a truthful rating. However, although Vine Members pay nothing up front to get these free products they are considered by the Internal Revenue Service as taxable income at the full retail price at the time we get them and we, therefore, must pay taxes on these items. On a more personal note I often read reviews for products I am considering buying and rely on those reviews that are detailed and come off as honest and full reviews on the product. I therefore try my best to give a true and honest review based on my own experiences with the product. My Rating Scale:1 star. This is the absolute lowest I can go and is a definite recommendation against being purchased.2 stars. Less than average - having issues that I try to delineate in my review. I personally would not pay for this item.3 stars. Average - neither great nor terrible. It will do the job it is supposed to do but without any obvious good or bad issues.I might or might not buy this item depending on the severity of my need or want.4 stars. While the product is better than average it is not an excellent product. I would probably buy this product.5 stars. Enough above average that it exceeds my expectations of how the product would and should perform. A product getting this rating is highly recommended.Further middle ratings: The above explanation is the base of the recommendations I give in a review. Very Smooth, SPRING
Very well built tripod head that's a really balanced blend of being well built but compact. It's not cutesy plastic small, but small enough. It can serve as a main tripod head and improves on most stock tripod heads out there. The added vertical mount is a nice bonus, even though I despise vertical video LOL.The only quirk, which really isn't a negative, is you have to make sure the two metal pins on the right side of the head make contact with the baseplate to LOCK the tripod plate into the head...it will lock automatically. I thought it slid in like normal and I had to manually lock it, but nope...so minor confusion there, but just insert the plate in and it snaps. The handle extension is nice...but kind of a gimmick...you can just fold the handle downward to put in a bag, but nothing detrimental to the product. The motion is very smooth and on the better/higher end of tripod heads. The spring to rest position is quite strong.

WOW! Competitive with similar products from big brands!
When I first ordered this tripod head, I had my doubts. For over a decade, I've relied on a high-end Manfrotto tripod kit with various cameras, from Panasonic ENG to Sony cinema models. Typically, most tripod heads fall short when compared to my trusted Manfrotto setup. However, this one stands out remarkably. The build quality is impressive, with a robust metal construction that exudes durability. The auto-locking feature is a standout—it clamps down on the baseplate with a secure spring mechanism, ensuring stability and ease of use. This thoughtful design gives me confidence that this tripod head will have a long service life, potentially rivaling the longevity of my Manfrotto head.An unexpected but welcome feature is its compatibility with DJI RS2 base plates. Although I don't use this often, it’s a handy option when needed.Overall, I highly recommend this tripod head for video and film production. It offers solid performance, excellent build quality, and thoughtful features that cater to both professional and versatile needs.

Decent fluid head
This is a pretty decent fluid head that fits my RSC2 pretty well as well as my spare Arca plates. I like that it comes with a spare plate as well as the angled 90 degree adapter plate. Its well packed but the body is mostly plastic. I'm happy with the fluidity of the pan and tilt action but its so light, I doubt i'd want to use it as a main fluid head. I like the quick release thumb switch and all the controls feel pretty good. Its nice to have the adjustable arm size for any situation where i need to squeeze behind the camera. All in all, i think this is pretty decent but its a little too expensive for a fully plastic unit like this. If it were mainly steel or aluminum, I think it'd make a better buy.

Fantastic fluid head
The media could not be loaded. This fluid head is great on my slider and fits my tripod too. It's a good locking design and smooth motion. I love it on my manual slider for awesome shots.
