Well written, easy to follow. Just what I needed to help get my 5 acres more productive for our family.

This book was very informative about raising and caring for livestock, also butchering. I learned a lot and enjoyed the book.

This is a great introductory book....a good way to get your feet wet if you are curious about raising a variety of different farm animals. It is not, however, a "Complete Guide" as the title claims, nor does it contain "Everything You Need to Know." To be fair, there's no way a trade-sized paperback could have everything you need to know about such a wide variety of animals. It's a great place to start, but if you seriously want to raise *any* of the animals included, you will probably want to buy a book specific to that animal.

This is a great book for me. It provides broad guidelines that give you an idea of what to expect and the pros and cons of each animal from many aspects.I like the approach which covers both commercial and practical aspects at the same time.Excellent reading.I will try to move my life in the near future to Panama, the only thing missing that I need is if there is something special needed when raising animals in the tropics. But, I think I need to do more deep research.Anyway a recommended read.

Read this book cover to cover. awesome book. Very informative. covers all aspects of anything your trying to learn. would definitely recommend this book to anyone just trying to get down the basics.

Great information

This book is pretty basic. Gives you alittle bit about everything and all animals. For me who has been farming a bit I needed more information than the book provided so I became alittle bored. But probably a good book for someone who is just starting.

This book covers a lot and does it reasonably well give the constraints of a small book. Some subjects are treated rather sketchily, but overall there is a lot of useful information in here, particularly for those new to farming/Smallholding. The ‘resources’ pages are aimed fairly and squarely at American readers but there are enough facts and ideas to suit all. In all, a good read.

If you don't know anything or want a refresh on many livestock raising issues, it's a good book to start and have an idea but you'll need more reading after this one to be able to do something (no sketch for cages or small shelter for example)

Excellent, simple and strighfoward yet very helpful to an absolute beginner and as reference for an experienced farmer who wants to add orther activities on the farm.
