Before opening this roll and having it expand uncontrollably, cut the top off of a plastic container that's just larger than the roll diameter, several inches above the roll height. Now cut a slot (or even just a knife cut) in the side of the container as high as the roll. As you unleash the beast, hold it tightly and put it inside the container bottom before it expands. Pull the end of the roll through the slot and now you have an Aluminum Flashing dispenser.Good stuff for leak protection and all kinds of diy projects. Would order again.

We live in an area that trades are hard to find, let alone quickly. We had a recent storm that caused a small leak near the chimney and my husband was able to repair it pretty quickly with this. I had ordered this for something else, but was happy I had it on hand. Worked great, and even the roof guy said everything was in order when I was finally able to get one out to check on things.

I got this to have around the house as needed so I didn't have to go out while working on projects and pick it up. I've already used it to put under the front door threshold and it was thin enough to not get in the way of the door closing. I had to cut with aluminum shears (the description states regular scissors would work but that wasn't my experience).

This aluminum flashing is just as advertised except it is about one quarter inch smaller in width. I ordered the 6 inch width and 10 foot length but measurements show it is not quite 6 inches wide which is why I removed one star. If I had ordered this and truly needed 6 inches this would have had to be returned. The thickness of the metal is good in that it is easy to work with and cut yet still has a good strength.I did not yet use this as typically intended, but used it to make a custom kick plate for the door to our garage. This was a good experiment that turned out well and covers the entire bottom of the door rather than just the rectangle I would have ended up with had I purchased a standard kick plate.If someone is purchasing this to use for crafts or something like I did and wants a scratch free finish, you should note that there are some scratches. There was an especially rough area on one end of the coil but only on one side and some light scratches randomly throughout. None were too visible that I felt any issue or disappointment. There was also some tape used on one end that left residue but I was able to remove that with a cleaner meant for sticky substances.The flashing is shipped in a pretty tight coil so it does take some work to get it to relax. It would take a lot of work to get it to lay totally flat. I cut the length I needed and worked to get that to lay somewhat relaxed, but not totally flat. Once installed this was not a problem and when used as actually flashing, this would not be an issue as it gets bent to the shape needed, the coiling stops.Overall a good product at a reasonable price and super convenient to have it delivered!

Said it was 10’ long BUT IT WASNT!!!! Shorted us over foot and a half. Already had to use it day I got it so can’t send it back! Don’t buy!
