I'm 76 and I've been riding bikes since I was a kid. I've owned pretty much every brand that was worth its salt, and in the 1990s I bought my first and only Specialized Bike - a HardRock Comp FS. I still ride it to this day. In 2018 I bought a Lectric XP V1 and put about 9000 miles on it. I sold it recently to buy a pair of ebikes, one for me and one for my wife. I chose the VEFREEDOM VELECTRIC 26" step through - a black one for me and a white one for my #bestie. It took me about two hours each to get them out of the box and running. They were very easy to put together using the helpful YouTube video. What surprised me was the quality of the engineering! This is a well-engineered, well-built bike. Compared to a Chinese-made bike of the 90s era, it's like night and day. All the parts I needed were included. Screws were stainless steel and threads were perfectly cut. Each piece fit and bolted down on the first try. You'll need a bit of help when you mount the front wheel. I have a winch in my garage and used it to lift and lower the front forks onto the wheel. It's about 10 pounds lighter than my Lectric XP, and taking out the battery reduces the weight enough to make it liftable, even for an old coot like me. I wasn't sure about the stock saddle, since it had the "women's" shape, but it worked fine, and make for a comfortable ride. I've put about 50 miles worth of testing on each bike and haven't had any problems. 50 miles using PAS 1 drew the battery down to about half. I had an old 4X6 trailer to which I added some enhancements to tow the bikes with our Kia Sportage Hybrid. We are very happy with the purchase and would recommend this particular model to anyone starting their ebike journey.

First of all this bike is absolutely beautiful everywhere I go people admire house beautiful of a bike. This is second of all. I write it to work every day 3 miles one way and I enjoy seeing my neighborhood and getting fresh air on the regular. The motor is strong and quiet. Everything works beautifully. I put it together myself pretty simple to be honest. Just have to be a little brave that’s all I absolutely love my bike.

A great value. Excellent frame, battery and motor. The speedometer seems set to Kilometers instead of miles though, which seems to limit speed, it says 24.8mph, but that seems wrong. It also has a rack which does not meet the frame flat, so you need angled washers or something like that. I also don't love the handlebars, they're a little granny style. But I'm very happy with the battery life, used bike for short rides everyday for a week without charge. Awesome.

Update again - after receiving the manual with instructions to adjust settings in the display - I thought I would share the instructions for everyone. For some reason (I think it is the magnet placement, but haven't been able to figure that out 100% yet) to achieve the correct MPH on your display, you need to adjust the wheel size setting to 20" I downloaded a free MPH GPS app to verify correct MPH while cycling. Use the power console buttons pushing both +/- at same time until the display changes to the settings mode. Use the (i) button to cycle through the setting until the 27" appears (04P) at the bottom. Use the (-) button to adjust to a 20" tire size. To complete setting push (i) again to set. Long press (i) again to exit settings menu. You should now be viewing your correct MPH as you cycle.Delivered before estimated date, took two of us about 2 hours to assemble, video was very helpful to see the stages. Very attractive looking, had all the features we were looking for - honestly we haven’t taken it on the road yet, will report back riding -update - been on thy three rides now, as a first time e-bike user it was easy to figure out how the gears and throttle work. I don’t think the MPH is accurate, I emailed the bike support but have not heard back, I think there is an adjustment you can make for that, taking off one star for that.Update - I was finally able to reach the vendor by email and receive the bike support manual. I'm upgrading my review to 5 stars once again - Thank you for the contact and info. I do LOVE the bike and I'm very happy with it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Lots of people had great things to say about this product. Functionality:I was looking for a bike to use on my neighborhood streets and on a trail around a local lake. This bike is easy to use and I don’t have to worry about running out of power in the middle of my trip!

Good bike after 15 miles. Motor turns on once you start peddling so if you left off on balls to the wall, attempting to coast and turn can be squiggly if you start to peddle again. I recommend strengthening out again before pedaling.Shipped well, assembly took maybe 35-40 minutes, headlight is a little weak but good thing the mini 3 prong connector makes for easy upgrade. Battery comes out with key, weighs about 10 pounds, easy to charge.

Love this bike and the company that made it. It's better than I expected. I wrecked one day and gnarled the handlebar, I wrote them and they replaced it for free. Thank you!

The advertisement greatly exaggerates the battery range and top speed. The brakes are very noisy. Assembly went smooth. No break downs. I do enjoy riding this bike.
