Who We Are (FireNine)

Heart break road...4.5 star.
I'm going to give Who W Are 4.5 stars. ββββ Β½. I loved it!From the start I loved it, lit leaves off where the first book started and when Eliza starts work we get to see our Gage again, you can tell these two belong together and are meant for each other. Little do we and they know that their road is going be long, full of pain, heart break, sorrow, longing. My heart breaks for these two like they were my best friends. I truly hate Penelope and what she has done to Gage, Eliza, everyone involved in this book. I hope she gets whats coming to her for all the hell she put everyone through. I loved Gage even more this book around, if that is possible. I kept comparing him to Kellan Kyle and how I never thought anyone could take over that spot ion my heart for #1 romantic rock star, Gage Grendel comes very, very close, it's scary. Their sexy is amazing and hot, I had to cool myself off a few times, it was definitely turned up a notch in this book. I LOVED Roy!!!!!!!!!!! I think he is my second favorite if not close to first with Gage, I love how he doesn't take no crap and tells it how it is, I love him and so glad we got to see his side and get to know him. Montana as always is a charmer and makes me laugh. Deed was good, didn't get very much Deed, but he is always fun and i'm glad he's happy. Glad Ben found someone and is happy, he made me laugh constantly!!! Kelsey and Monica were great, Monica was hilarious and I could see me and her being good friends. Kelsey I was proud of, I just knew her and Roy would get together and she would hopefully crack that tough shell of his.Gage I was also upset with a good majority of the book, you will see why. I understand family comes first. But once you have someone a girlfriend, wife, partner, whatever that you want to be with for life, they should come first always, over everyone. That's how I feel about that. But he restored my faith in him and I couldn't stay mad. I love him to pieces and I do understand. Just my opinion and thoughts though. There were also many twists, turns, surprises, shockers in this book. Be prepared to laugh, cry, yell, scream. It takes you on every emotion possible. It was truly amazing though and I couldn't be more happy that everything at least worked out for everyone and the epilogue was beautiful.I hope for a Gage POV one day, I want to know many things this man was thinking at certain points. All in all it was amazing and you must read it. I loved it to pieces and Shanora has got a fan for life. Same with FireNine, I will read and love anything by them and Shanora <3Some quotes I loved:"I'm not asking for your heart again, even though I'm pretty sure I still own it.""You don't understand how much I need you. How much I miss you. You were all I had, but I...I f&*%-ed up.""I can mend your heart, though. I can collect all the pieces and put you back together again.""Don't be sorry. I understand. We'll just wash each other and giggle like girls. Nothing too major.""Sometimes some people aren't worth the sacrifice, but if they are, you'll know.""You're me first love. I'm in love with you and I always will be. But when it comes down to my family and my band, no one can get in between that.""She's worse than a snake. She's a damn anaconda.""I think you're forgetting you still carry balls in those tight pants of yours." (LMAO)"Kelsey can come. I'll keep her company while u fondle Grendel." ( LOL, love Roy!)"I know I hurt you, upset you, and you still might be messed up over how things ended with us , but I'm gonna make you mine again. And what I'm about to do to you will be part of my apology. You're mine, Eliza, and that'll never change, no matter what kinda s*&^ we go through.""Just...love. I've missed you, too. My love for you hasn't faded.""They're in my past now. They're the least of my worries. And I fought for you. I love you.""I think we're all here to either make someone happy, to take care of someone who may be in need, or to make a difference in a few lives, good or bad."I promise. I've made Gage my everything. I'm not losing him again. We're going to work it out."

FireNine shines like the Rock Stars they are!
I was eagerly anticipating the follow up to Who He Is and I was NOT disappointed!I want to start by saying that I really wish I didn't have a hard and fast rule about not posting spoilers, because after reading a few reviews for this book and seeing what was said, I wonder if THEY were reading the same book. But alas...different strokes for different folks I guess...This second book in Gage and Eliza's story was riveting! There was so much emotion in the pages of Ms. Williams books that I found myself at times laughing, only to read the next page and crying. It's a testament to an author's chops when they can spell out a roller coaster ride that makes you all the more eager to keep reading.I didn't think Gage was weak in the slightest. I could feel the emotional turmoil he was experiencing. When you are backed against a wall and you are forced to make choices that impact everyone you care about, if you can go about those choices like a robot, there is something wrong with you. I admire the fact that Gage would willingly think of those he cares for and take the burden on himself. That doesn't make you weak- it makes you selfless. And it was obvious to me while reading that that is exactly what Gage was doing.Eliza really grew in this book. AMEN SISTER! Watching her stick to her guns instead of just melting into his arms was a refreshing change of pace from those romance books where the female just swoons and nods her head, going along with whatever the supposed hero of the story wants. Eliza grew a backbone, she fought for what she wanted and I LOVE her for that! I loved seeing her refuse to give up on someone she cared for because that would have been easier than facing the tribulations. She had his back because she was the only one who could. We could all use an Eliza in our lives- someone who will fight tooth and nail for us when we are heading in the wrong direction.I also really like the fact that Ms. Williams doesn't "cave" or switch up her writing to mold herself into some nice little package. The hot scenes in this book are hot because of the emotions they bring out of a reader, not because the author goes into vivid details about what's going on in the bedroom. Books that describe every "throbbing" whatever or "dripping wet" something are a dime a dozen today, and they almost always read like a clinician's sex manual to me. THANK THE GODS Ms. Williams doesn't write that way!I loved seeing Roy's growth in this book. I was heart broken by the position Gage was forced into in order to do what he thought was best for everyone he loves. Gage NEVER had it easy- from his birth and all through his life. Those events shaped him into what WHO HE IS (see how I did that there? LOL!)And I was up until the crack of dawn, enthralled to see what happened next.WHO WE ARE is exactly the sort of book that keeps you rooting for the characters, has you ready to jump into the pages and whoop someone's ass (I got you, Eliza) and leaves you feeling blessed to have been a part of these lover's journey.I cannot wait for the next FireNine book!

Fantastic!
I have loved both books in the series so far. This is book two and if you haven't read book one, Who He Is, check it out before this one. This book takes us back to Gage and Eliza. It does jump through time a few times. It starts off eight months after book One where Eliza leaves Gage to pursue her career at university in art. She does run in to Gage again when she has to wait backstage for Ben, her dad and the ban's manager to take her home as she home for a few weeks. Gage is really frosty with her and she can see how much she hurt him by leaving. She starts an intern-ship at Arts Global but she hates finding out that they do a lot of work for Firenine and when she runs into Gage again, she finds out he was the one who put her name forward for the job. It all doesn't work out for them when he ends up leaving again and Eliza doesn't understand what happened.Eliza finds out that Penelope, Gage's ex-girlfriend is blackmailing him to stay with her and marry her. Penelope knew Gage's secret about his sister who has been on drugs and Gage doesn't want the tabloids finding out so Penelope blackmails her. Then it goes on two years later and it's Gage's band mates that convince Eliza to fight for him and that's what she intends to do.It is a brilliant sequel to Who He Is and i fell in love with all the characters even though they can be cocky and arrogant, there's just something about them. I had to give this a 5 star rating as it deserves it. I can't wait to read more about these characters. There is so much going on in Who We Are. I was totally gripped and it was hard to get up and do anything else than read this truly amazing book!

This is the second book in the FireNine series.... This book gives you more of Gage and Eliza. If book one didn't make you love FireNine.... By the end of this book you will be a super fan! This book jumps two years from book one to Eliza graduation..... She's not seen Gage since the fateful day under the bridge.Gage is now set to marry Penelope in one week.... He's miserable and his family, the band fear he will lose it all if he marries her. With nowhere else to turn... Montana and Roy turn up at Eliza's asking her to fight for him.The shock of Roy opening up to her makes her realize she needs to help Gage anyway she can....simply because he is her one. With the help of the band and Kelsey, they set up a plan to help Gage break free from Penelope.Secrets come tumbling out but sometimes to heal all wounds need to be ripped open.....This story shows love and family always have your back no matter how low you need to fall. This story not only gives you more of Gage and Eliza and their beautiful journey towards a happy ever after.... But you also get more of all FireNine........I loved this story and cannot wait for Roy's story in FireNine #3.

Nice story but a little disappointed in how book turned ...
This is part two and the completion of Eliza and Gage's story. There was a lot of towing and frowning in book 2. He sweeps her off her feet again only to dump her for that silly woman who was blackmailing him which made me disrespect Gage in a big way. Eliza was prepared to stand by him through thick and thin and he did not want to chance it but he want's Eliza to keep loving him. No woman worth her salt would do that when you are about to betray her in the wast way possible.Eliza again sacrifices her feelings to save the day. Nice story but a little disappointed in how book turned out. However, I enjoy all the characters and will read all the books in the series. Worth checking out.

awesome read
I read book #1 and loved it, so much I immediately purchased book 2 and read tin a night.... The book is awesome, it's rare that a follow on book is just as book as the first, but omg this book is just as awesome, it stands alone as a very good ad. The sorry line is still about the same 2 characters but what happens next is heartbreaking, anxious, happy sad a real mix of emotions. The writer blends the characters to the story line very well, again, it's so gripping I couldn't put it down. What's lovely is there,is a lovely little epilogue at the end to put a lovely clear ending to the story, Very well written, one of the best books I've read for a long whole, by far this is one of my favourite reads. I sooooo love Gage <3
