Tenth album by the Irish blues musician. Like his previous album 'Photo-Finish', 'Top Priority' is a return to hard rock. The ballads, acoustic and folk influences that were seen on albums such as 'Calling Card' are replaced by more conventional but powerful blues rock. Review: Excellent - Incredible album, everyone should own it. Get on your plaid shirt Review: 2018 Release of 2017 CD Remaster From Original 1/4 Master Tape - The Definitive Version At Last. - 24 bit High Resolution re-mastering from the original 1/4 master tape by Andy Pearce & Matt Wortham at Wired Masters in 2017. All of the 2018 CD studio remasters released by UMC contain updated sleeve insert photos and track comments. There is no remix meddling this time; these are as the original releases. All have bonus track(s) except Deuce. Excellent sound quality throughout and the content needs no further comment other than it is Rory Gallagher doing what only he and his co-musicians could; a unique sound and a massive influence on many players that have followed.

Top Rock
Solid heavy rock record with barely a sniff of "blues" or banjo spanking country that Rory is mostly remembered and revered for. Classic riffs and solos and for me where the Rory Gallagher story really starts. An album to play from start to finish with no fast forwarding. The bonus tracks are worthy inclusions too.

An interesting Japanese version.. It is good ,clean ,cut rock, the Japanese version is excellent.
It is good ,clean ,cut rock, and Rory although not in top form but certainly away from the pack .the Japanese version is excellent.

Top Priority
I had this in a kind of box set, 5 cd's in a sleeve, I wanted the remastered one so I had the sleeve notes which I didn't have. Its Rory, in case no-one has figured yet, I am a HUGE Rory fan, just love everything he did, haven't heard anything I don't like - just brilliant.

How many more times?
Bought original cd, then the apparently definitive remaster a few years ago, and now this new remaster. I feel like a milked cow. Just as well the music is blinding-but value for money depends a lot on what system you play through. Your bog standard high fi will show naff all difference between the two remastered versions.

am constantly reminded how little recognition Rory Gallagher really got while he was alive. How he played his heart out and really got not nearly what was duly his. I am not one for Live Recordings but in his case I make an exception for it is only by listening to him live that Rory Gallagher comes out. I saw him here in the Early 70's. I was awe struck at what the man could do with the ease. There is one thing that I point out every time I run across it and that is the packaging. Again I have come across the Short sighted cost cutting measures of the record companies which market a great product in a PAPER JACKET. This is a true pet peeve of mine. It isn't a matter of being green because the entire inside is still plastic, NO they are simply cutting Cost by printing the jacket on paper instead of putting a true sleeve inside a plastic jacket as was the practise up until a few years ago. Now with these paper jackets the ink used to make up the artwork of the cover will simply wear away as other discs rub up against these cheaply made CD's. Musically however RG holds his own with the very greats Blues Men......Spigomars
