These are great! The quality is spot on and the adhesive appears to be super strong! They have a good weight to them when you hold them in your hand and the paint appears to be high quality. I am very pleased. I purchased my 2012 Silverado Crew Cab used and the previous owner removed the Chevy bowtie from the tailgate and did a terrible job. He/she scratched the paint where the old emblem was and actually pulled some of the paint clean off the tail gate! I purchased this replacement bowtie to cover up the damage left behind by the previous owner. The reason I am awarding only 4 stars is because of the instructions. They were very inadequate and did not contain an emblem placement template. As a result I had to measure and tape (blue painters tape) my tailgate off to get the placement just right. Overall, I feel it turned out well but I spent an additional ~30 minutes measuring and taping so I could get the placement as close to perfect as possible. If the manufacturer had decided to throw in a placement template this product would easily earn 5 stars. Also, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, there will be a small space between the tailgate and the emblem because the product only has 4 strips of adhesive on the back. Granted, the 4 strips get the job done and get it done well but it might not be preferred if you're the OCD type. Good luck!

Ok..so removal of old emblem took about an hour of my time and some patience..but wasn't terrible. Had put a vynal wrap on that looked ok for the winter...until a car wash about a month ago made it start to bubble. Made me pull the trigger and now I'm kicking myself for not going this route to begin with! Nice heavy duty quality that puts the factory plastic crap to shame! Only worry I have is that the four strips of double-sided tape won't hold! I did warm up the tailgate with my heat gun some and made sure I let the emblem warm up good inside first. It's only about 33 degrees outside here today. Used the heat gun to warm the old one and was able to use a nylon trim tool set to remove the old emblem. All in all well worth the effort getting the black goo off with the same trim set and some goof off afterward. Love it!

Item seems to be built well and solid unfortunately mine came with light scratches on the face, I normally would've. Sent it back but considering the price I decided to keep it. One suggestion is but some double sided tape, seems the strips on it may not be sufficient. I didn't want to take the chance so added a few of my own to be sure it didn't fall off going down highway

So when I recently purchased my 2007 Chevy 1500, the emblems were in poor condition much like all Chev's out there. Even though I have a black pickup I figured the black emblem would fit nicely. Getting the factory emblem off....now that was a process. I heated the old emblem for about 10 minutes with the heat gun on low so not to damage the paint, and that thing still wouldn't budge. I grabbed a 16" prybar and folded up some cardboard to protect the paint and finally managed to get the emblem off without damaging the vehicle. The new emblem has some serious weight to it. This thing is heavy. It comes with 4 tiny little adhesive strips to hold it in place. I seriously hope it is adequate.........

Removing old emblem was a chore! Heat gun, good off, razor blade....so I just cleaned off the area the emblem needed to be stuck too. Since emblem gives a little space off tailgate the old glue isn't noticeable nor did it impede installation of new emblem. Have four stars as I hate instructions that are written vague....verbatim, "remove existing emblem adhesive tape". DUH!!! How!!! Lol.

The title on the product is incorrect. It is a tailgate emblem as the previous reviewer stated. Having said that, it is a very nice product; and it looks sharp on the back of my truck. One minor note is that unlike the stock emblem the adhesive used on this billet emblem does not cover every edge of the emblem. You will be able to see between your tailgate and the emblem if you are looking down the tailgate at the ground. Still a great product and as always Amazon.com is amazing.

Too heavy and not enough tape supplied. I thought about buying more tape but I did not. Even after cleaning my paint with alcohol this bowtie fell off while opening the tailgate and chipped. It is now a paper weight in my garage.

Just make sure you know how to uninstall your old first because installing this takes literally 30 seconds. Uninstalling your old one can take a couple hours depending on how much double sticky stuff GM decided to use on your vehicle.

Es una joya esta pieza, mide 26 x 10 cm, no pesa y trae sus tornillos allen de instalación y cinta doble cara para pegar.Se siente de gran calidad y suena como la porcelana al ser de aluminio de alta resistencia. Ese tipo de aleaciones es super resistente a golpes y corrosión. Pensé que era un poco más pequeño, pero se verá perfecto en mi taller y mis camionetas.Super recomendado, no supe la oferta que aplicó, pero pude comprar 3 por 600 pesos.El emblema esta sobre un folder tamaño carta, para referencia del tamaño.

Much nicer upgrade to the gold emblem on my white truck.

Rock solid and well made. Need a bit more adhesive tape than what it comes with (my opinion only). I ordered tape and will repost once installed.
