Superb value for money, excellent sound and comfort
As an owner of the original Melomania 1 in-ears, I was excited to see Cambridge Audio announce their first over ear headphones. Wonderful soundstage considering the closed back design, and a satisfying neutral profile out of the box. Noise cancelling works well in most environments, drowning out droning tones such as train engines with ease. I find the cups sit tight enough on the ears that the ANC isn't necessary for everyday background noise. The build quality is exceptional and feels premium in the hand and on the head. The swivel and flex to the headband provide ample opportunity for a good fit, and the phones sit comfortably on my head for hours at a time. Physical buttons located on the bottom edge of each earcup make changing volume and the like an easy task. The battery life is exceptional, with my pair not needing a charge yet since I bought them despite frequent use across plenty of commutes. The microphone quality is great and perfectly usable for phone calls and voice notes, with the clear voice technology working well to remove wind sounds and such.My only complaint would be that Google Fast Pair doesn't seem to work as intended, given that even when paired and in use I'll get pop ups to pair the headphones with my device and following that prompt, an error when trying to autodownload the app. However, other than this hiccup they work flawlessly. Highly recommend.

Best headphones compared to their expensive rivals
I purchased these recently as, what I thought would just be a pretty decent pair of gym headphones, boy was I wrong!I also have the Bowers & Wilkins PX8’S (which I’ve now given to my wife - see why below) and the Bang & Olufsen H95’s. And chose both after extensive research and watching and reading many reviews. After being disappointed with the performance of the PX8’s and a hissing sound when moving my head slightly, I gave them to my wife who’s not really too bothered with sound quality - a really poor use of nearly £600!Never mind, I thought, I’ll just have to take that one on the chin! So then spent around £800 on the H95’s thinking, this is it, these will give the best performance - now, don’t get me wrong the H95’s are excellent and the comfort, build quality, clarity and depth in the music (of all genres) are all fantastic, however…The Cambridge Audio P100’s are as good in sound quality as the H95’s, and the volume goes louder than I can handle, without distortion. The build quality is excellent and although a little heavier, they are perfectly comfortable on my rather large noggin! This is where they trump the H95’s. At max volume the H95’s are just not loud enough. The only thing that’s better on the H95’s are the controls, which are less fiddly than the P100’s - but that’s it!So, to sum up - buy the P100’s - at £200 they are a quarter of the price, just as high quality and go LOUD!So, I’ll be using the expensive H95’s for the gym instead!

Excellent sound - ANC & Controls not so good
I tested these headphones in comparison with the Sony WH-1000XM5, but in the end returned them as I couldn't make up my mind which was best. I would have kept these if the ANC and controls were better.ProSound quality is excellent, with sparkling, punchy dynamic sound. Vocals and guitars sound great, treble is smooth and bass is deep but well controlled. I hear something new in every one of my favourite tracks, which makes me want to re-visit them all. They are comfortable with sufficient depth for my average-size ears - I don't feel my ears getting too hot after extended listening. The battery life is outstanding.ConThe basic level of isolation is not very good and pressing the headphones tighter to my ears does not improve this - the ANC is already at a disadvantage. The ANC is not as effective as, for example, the Sony WH-1000XM5 - when listening to a podcast on the headphones, I can still hear the speech on the TV in the same room. When the ANC is switched on there is a noticeable background hiss. When moving around a room with ANC switched on, the level of background noise changes as I turn my head - the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones do not do this, the level of noise cancellation stays the same as I move around.I find the physical buttons difficult to use - the most used (FN) button which controls play/pause, call pickup/reject is only 2mm dia. while less-used vol+ vol- buttons are rectangular and much bigger. I do like physical buttons, but one large button on each side using multiple presses for different functions would IMHO work better - the buttons on the Melomania One earbuds are perfect.

Fantastic sound
These headphones have provided hours of relaxed listening as I travel on trains around the country. The touch controls work well and connectivity is simple to both my phone and my laptop. They are great value for money with a charge lasting a long time. My only complaint would be the noise cancelling is so good I have nearly missed my stop on a couple of occasions
