Staedtler Pencil Holder, (900 25)

Material: Aluminum grip, barrel Versatile: fits regular sized pencils round, hex or triangular, even some pen refills! Durability: aluminum can be soft, so scratches will show up. Fairly durable. Value: a bit expensive, but quality remains when cost is forgotten. I have to admit, Blackwing pencils are nice, but they weren't the ones to bring me back to pencils. That honor goes to Graf Von Faber Perfect pencil (which I couldn't afford). I went with the more budget versions, the Faber Castell 9000 perfect pencils. This Staedler pencil holder fits those perfectly, since they are shorter. Regular length pencils, you'll have to use them a bit, or, maybe cut them in half if you really want to start using the pencil holder? This holder is about 3.5 inches, or a little over 80mm in depth. I like my pencils with a really nice long point, so this protects them when I flip the pencil around and store the point inside. There is and replaceable eraser, and to lengthen it for use, you just turn the cap clockwise. I didn't know that at first, hope it helps. As and added bonus, those of you who are Uniball Power Tank users, this will actually accommodate the retractable refill, if you're comfortable with the added length from the ball point tip. My fingers are at the same spot, so I'm fine with it. If you stick with regular-sized pencils, they will fit, no matter if they are hex, round or triangular. This would not accept my Kimberly 9XXB which is over 8mm, closer to 9mm (10/32”, or thereabout). See attached photos

Once I got this Pencil holder, I haven’t needed to buy pencils since. It allows me to make full use of the pencil. This holder is quality with a metal construction and the grip is comfortable. Simply twist the grip to loosen and then twist the grip in the opposite way to tighten. There is also an eraser when you twist the top of the pencil holder. For Blackwing pencils, you’ll have to separate the eraser section and only use the pencil.

Very nice, very high quality. You'd think something like this would be simple to get right, but I've tried quite a few and this is the only one that I like enough to buy again. Other makes I've tried, perhaps more traditional, do not grip the barrel of the pencil firmly enough and causing the pencil and the holder to wobble with respect to each other. This one holds the pencil firmly such that it feels all of one piece. The eraser is very handy. It's easy enough to unscrew and reverse the pencil if you want to pop it in your pocket. Fit and finish is absolutely top notch. I wish it were available in more colors, I would buy eight to accommodate different weights. This one is silver. The picture has a powder-blue tint to it that must have been picked up from the surroundings. It's also available in dark blue, I have one of those too, although it doesn't seem to be available from this seller. This price was substantially better than I found elsewhere. I like it so much I've started cutting new pencils in half so I don't have to wait for them to get short before I can use it :) Note that Japanese pencils are slightly bigger around than US pencils, 7.22 and 7.00 mm respectively for the one of each I have in front of me. It seems to work fine for both, although I use Japanese pencils exclusively day-to-day.

I didn't think I would ever be able to justify a $20 for this item but it's really well designed and feels so comfortable in my hand, I love it. Some reviews mention that a hex barrel won't fit in here well but I am having zero issues with it. The pocket clip keeps it from rolling across my desk, and for me the way that it is weighted feels great, the eraser barrel also works great. I know not everyone will have the same experience, but I have to state unequivocally that this is worth the money!

This pencil holder is going to be around for a long time. It is well constructed, nice looking and lightweight. The size is good and the finger grip is effective while not being too rough. I also use this as a stick eraser refill holder, a nice upgrade from plastic. It will hold model 05417 Pentel Clic eracer refills, or the economy pack Baile Rub IT erasers. Both are found here on Amazon. You will need to trim the length a but the inner mechanism is tight enough so that you can use the leftovers.

The Staedtler pencil holder is pretty good and does everything I need it to. Quality seems pretty good, although it's lighter than I would have expected and there are few places where the metal seems a little thinner than I would have liked. My only real complaint is that I bought this assuming it had a spring-loaded clutch mechanism. Maybe that's a bad assumption on my part, but it certainly looked like that from the photos. Instead, you have to unscrew the knurled grip barrel, readjust the pencil manually, and the screw the barrel back down. It's not a big deal, but it would certainly be more convenient if you could simply click the top of the holder to open a clutch and advance the pencil--like you do with a lead holder. On the plus side, it seems well made, and is pretty versatile. Some of the questions/answers above have implied that this is only for use with Staedlter's lumograph pencils. However, here's what I've tried in this holder and they all fit great (several of these have erasers and several don't): Tombow 2558 and Mono100 Dixon Ticonderoga Staedtler Mars Lumograph (of course) and Wopex Mitsu-Bishi Hi Uni, 9850 and 9000

Very grippy knurling. Sharper than Rotring's. Feels light but also quality. If you dont want to buy their expensive eraser replacements, you can stretch a standard pentel hi-polymer eraser cap over the eraser sleeve.

Didn't think a metalic extender would be comfortable or able to accommodate Japanese-width pencils (most don't). The eraser is a plus. Overall a well-made, well-conceived product.

I love it! Clean high quality industry design feeling. Pretty cool with the eraser at the top too.

I bought this to match my Staedtler 925 25 mechanical pencil and Staedtler 425 25F-9 pen. All of them are made in Japan by the separate Staedtler Japan subsidiary of Staedtler from Germany. The grip works well on all the pencils I have tried (mostly Mars Lumograph) but they have to be around halfway used to fit. You can flip the pencil around when storing to prevent pencil marks in your bag. There is a lead grade indicator to make up for the hidden marking normally at the end of a pencil. The pencil holder uses the same erasers as Triplus Micro mechanical pencils. Refill 77 R56

Amazing piece of kit! We home school and the children use steadtler pencils for their work so we get through a lot. My parents had told me about a little tin holder they were given at work in the 1950's by their boss, where in those times of austerity, they would have to prove their pencil had been used to its maximum before they would be allowed a new one! I wasn't expecting to find anything like it but did. The first one I looked at had mixed reviews, people saying the pencil slipped out or wobbled in the casing. So I decided to go for this one being as it is Staedtler pencils we use. It is a bit pricey and took a while to get here from Japan but it is really good quality and works brilliantly. We now have our first teeny tiny pencil! Have just measured it and my daughter has managed to get it down to 2cm!!! I belong to a small local charity with a school in Africa and I will be taking a few out there for the head teacher to keep as it would help them such a lot. Pity they are not more readily available but sadly, here in the west, we live in such a throwaway society. Would definitely recommend it.

Ich schreibe und zeichne täglich mit Bleistiften, sie sind wohl meine heimliche Leidenschaft - und eine ziemlich dankbare übrigens, günstig, jeder Stift langlebig. All meine anderen Hobbies sind deutlich teurer und seltsamerweise dennoch weniger befriedigend. Nun zu dem Stiftehalter: Alle Bleistifte, die ich besitze (von Mitsubishi und Mono über die deutschen Klassiker bis hin zu Dixon/Ticonderoga) passen perfekt rein. Der Stiftehalter ist richtig gut ausbalanciert, liegt so entspannt in der Hand wie ein guter Füller und wiegt auch ungefähr so viel. Das Material ist sehr wertig und auch nach einer Weile noch schön. Ich habe relativ lange Finger und empfinde meine Bleistifte ab der halben Länge als zu kurz - der Stiftehalter ist tief genug, um sie dann darin einzusetzen. Ist er teuer? Ja, schon. Es liegt wohl daran, dass er eigentlich exklusiv für den japanischen Markt hergestellt wird. Aber er lohnt sich, entsprechende Bleistiftneigung vorausgesetzt.
