PREPARED4X Emergency Fire Blankets for Home - Kitchen Fire Blanket to Smother a Fire - Fiberglass Protection Flame Smoke Suppression Blankets for Grills, Car, Fireplaces (2-Pack)I ordered this set of Emergency Fire Blankets on May 11th and it arrived on May 13th, so fast delivery, via USPS, was left at our front gate, arrived in a cardboard box with one other item I ordered, was intact and undamaged.Nice retail packaging, nice PVC storage bag, nice long pull tabs, self explanatory on use but I did make sure my spouse read the instructions and watched the video. I placed them front and center, is hanging on the bedroom door so we can’t miss it (also did not want to make a hole in the drywall to hang a hook), nice long pull tabs, 39x39 is about the average size of these fire blankets.I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a good price or sale on the large fire blankets that can cover a person from head to at least waist, but they are expensive if I want two for every room in our house and our vehicles. I am a retired first responder, have been on scene at an auto fire where the occupants are pinned in the vehicle waiting for fire rescue to arrive; and it was horrific watching those individuals scream while being cooked alive. I likewise have responded to structure fires before fire personnel arrived on scene, and have gone into the structure to rescue occupants, so an Extra Large Emergency Fire Blanket that offered more protection would be great to have, but for now I ordered these. We do have Large fire extinguishers at key points within our house, garage, shed and vehicles, not to extinguish the fire but to aid in escaping the structure or vehicle. The material used for the PREPARED4X Emergency Fire Blanket is different from other manufactures, it is coated with silicon to protect the User from the fiberglass material. The pictorial and video seems to allude that the emergency fire blanket should be used to cover the fire to rob oxygen to extinguish the fire and not as a personal protection device, but one has to do whatever is necessary when trying to stay alive. But there are many incidents with occupants in a structure need something to shield them from the flames so they can escape. Putting out the fire is just a bonus if it is still small enough to be able to contain it. But for me, first thing is Dial 911, then have loved ones and pets escape to outside and away from the structure. The instructions, pictorial and video is clear and easy to understand, as is the instructions right on the storage bag. The eyelet is large enough that I was able to use heavy duty cordage to fashion a loop so I can hang it on the door knob. I am giving this fire blanket a 5 Star rating and hope that I never have to use it.

Great to Have on Hand - Just in Case
There are a lot of fire blankets available today and most are very similar. The first thing you should know about the PREPARED4X fire blanket is that it is suitable for class A and B fires. Class A fire involves organic solids – wood, paper, etc. Class B fire involves flammable liquids. These fire blankets are not suitable for dealing with Class C, D, F or electrical fires. Class C, D and F involve flammable gases, metals and fats (deep fryers, cooking oils) respectively. Most of the fires you will encounter around your house are Class A or B.These fire blankets are made of fiberglass with a silicone coating to prevent the fiberglass from throwing off dangerous shards. They measure a little over 3’ X 3’ and have two handles for grabbing and controlling the blanket. They are designed to extinguish a flame by cutting off the oxygen supply. You will need to make sure the blanket completely covers the flame and there is no opening for air to get to the fire to continue to feed it oxygen. I have two of these in my house and one in each car. If there were a engine fire in one of the automobiles, it would not work if air were able to get to the fire from the underside of the engine. There are reflector stripes on the fire blanket to make them easier to find at night. There is also a hanging hook suitable to mount the blanket included with each blanket. These are suitable for one-time use and if used should be discarded.Good to have on hand but I hope I never get to use one.

Nice pack of fire blankets
I got these to have fire blankets to keep near our stove and grill. These are fairly compact and have instructions on the cases they are packed in. We haven't had any fires to test these (thankfully) but they seem to be easy to unpack and use.
